She's Baaack

When I chose to take a blogging hiatus after my diagnosis last November, I really wasn't feeling well enough to blog.  But as time has passed, I'm feeling better.  I do tire out fairly easily, so I'm not nearly as productive as I used to be so I didn't feel like there was enough going on that would be very blog worthy on any given day, but perhaps I'll have enough to blog about if I post once a week to ten days?  I'm willing to give it a try.

CANCER UPDATE:  I have three more chemo treatments scheduled ... currently my last treatment is scheduled for March 8.  Initially I was going to have 9 weeks of chemo, but since the chemo is working so well and since I'm tolerating it so well, my oncologist wants me to have another 3 treatments ... the smaller/more confined we can get all that cancer, the more he'll be able to remove during surgery. And speaking of surgery, I'm sure that he and I will discuss it during my appointment on Tuesday, but I would imagine that he'll want to do surgery within a week or two after my last chemo.  Monday's blood draw will include checking my cancer markers ... they were checked 3 weeks ago, and the level was approximately a fourth of what it was early December.  I'm excited to see how much they've dropped after another 3 weeks.

QUILTING UPDATE:  I didn't anticipate feeling so good when we made the move to DD's so my sewing machine remains in my sewing room back home.  And since my surgery will be coming up before too long, it'll stay there for a while.  I do have my Martha Washington's Flower Garden to work on, so I'm not suffering from quilty withdrawal. ;-)   Perhaps after my surgery, I'll find a nook for my sewing table here at DD's.  I'll do my best to have a picture of some of my progress when I post next.

LIFE UPDATE: The Ts have done well at their swim meets ... they've qualified for USA Swim championships (next weekend) and for YMCA championships (March 18-20). The USA Swim meet will be in St. Louis, so I'll be able to cheer them on; if my surgery is scheduled for mid-March as I suspect it will be, I may not be able to watch them compete at that meet ... although that meet is held here in town, about a mile away from DD's house, and the venue is handicapped accessible, so I'm hoping that I might be able to watch a few events.

Ive been keeping busy working puzzles with DD.  We finished one yesterday, and I think we'll start another tomorrow.  I've also been reading a lot, as well ... a perfect way to while away the hours at the Infusion Center.  ;-)

I had a milestone birthday earlier this month ... and I got a nice gift from Uncle Sam.

And I had the biggest birthday party ... thousands celebrated along with me.  Oh wait, you mean they were celebrating Super Bowl 50, not my birthday?  Ha!

The weather the last few days has been positively delightful. We set a record high yesterday, and it should be even a little warmer today.  Definitely a day to get out and get in a nice walk.  The forecast shows a return to more seasonable weather in a few days, so we're definitely enjoying this lovely weather while we can.  And on that note, I'm going to head outside.

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy ... have a great day!
