We’ve been having a whole lot of rain here … and then Bill decided to show up and brought us 6” of rain in just a little more than 24 hours. Thankfully there’s no rain in today’s forecast … but we’re not going to be drying out too much as rain is back in the forecast for tomorrow and much of next week. When did we move to Seattle?
I was able to get in quite a bit of quilting yesterday morning before I headed up to DD’s for the day. Since there’s nothing on this weekend’s schedule, I’m planning making a good bit more progress on getting this quilt finished up.
And speaking to heading up to DD’s, that meant that I got to spend the day with 4 of my favorite people. T#4 wanted a mani/pedi, so of course Nana was all too happy to accommodate her wishes.
During a brief break in the rain yesterday morning, we went out to see how our garden was progressing. Our baby tomatoes are slowly but surely getting a little bigger, but it’s still going to be a while before we’ll be serving BLTs. And most of our cucumbers are still teeny tiny, but there’s one that’s getting close to making its way to our table. It’s probably about 2” long, so we’ll let it get a little larger before we pick it.
Is there anything better than when a package is delivered? Especially when that package contains fabric! It’s like Christmas in June here at Chez Nana. Aren’t those buttons on those tags just adorable (click on the photo if you want to see them close up)? Makes me want to order some more (not that I need much encouragement – ha!).
I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy ... have a great day!
Kathy
I guess rain will always be part of summer! And your garden is growing, so all good! Love those fabrics and the way they package them...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyou got a lot more rain out of that storm then we did! I was really surprised as I expected so much more than what we got - our total was only 1.5 inches! we did have a bit of wind here and there but overall escaped the wrath of Bill very well.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is wonderful I like those buttons too. What a fun way to spend time with your grand children. My daughter and her husband are in Missouri. Of course, Bill was there too. He has caused quit a ruckus hasn't he? I hope you have a wonderful weekend too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like A LOT of rain! I just can't imagine it....sooo dry here in California. I have a feeling we are going to have a bad fire season. And Ithink you know how that fabric would strike me....just like you....Christmas in June!! Soo fun. Enjoy your week-end Kathy.
ReplyDeleteI surely wish Bill had headed our way! Those fabrics are beautifully wrapped. What are you going to make with them? Our first tomato should be ready in a day or two and I can't wait for that BLT.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making the best of a wet situation :) I'm having friends over for a sewing day so I don't think it could get much better!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain with the rain. We've had more than enough, too. I'm just thankful for no flooding at our house! And oh, yes! Those fabric bundles do look inviting.
ReplyDeleteWell, thankfully we have had little to no rain the past two weeks and it has been WONDERFUL! We were so tired of the wet stuff. Maybe it will leave your area soon. What a cute little cucumber! I like them but they sure don't like me, so I avoid them. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSouth Central Texas could still use some of that moisture. Pity you can't direct it our way, but I'm not complaining. We are in much better circumstances than we were a few weeks ago. Pretty manicure and very nice stash enhancements.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Illinois is getting way too much rain...we keep hearing about the flash flood warnings near home - ugh! We were in lots of rain in May but not really any since - nice for a vacation. Hope your garden doesn't drown. Love the fabric and the way it is packaged. ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI saw on the radar that Bill went right over St Louis. We only got about 2.5 inches but my cucumber plants were happy for that. None off my vines yet either, seems late but worth the wait
ReplyDeleteGlad you have some days to dry out. Too much rain isn't a good thing either. Cute little cuc. Hope more are on their way. Great new stash. Perfect for the summer months.
ReplyDeleteWe spent 9 hours today at a family reunion and had a great time. It is also our 37th wedding anniversary. I'm hoping to get some stitching in before bedtime. : )
ReplyDeleteLots of rain here as well and I was just out there this morning weeding a bit and now it's very humid already. The weeds grew much faster than the 'regular' plants with this rain. That's not fair ! :) Enjoy your drying out and stitching time!
ReplyDeleteThose bundles of fabric are too cute! Emily would love for you to come down and give her a mani/pedi! Glad you got some T time and enjoy your hand quilting today.
ReplyDeleteLove the contents of your squishy package! Rain in the forecast here today too. My vegetable garden is not even close to producing edibles yet. At least we don't have to spend our stitching time watering our gardens! Have fun quilting today.
ReplyDeleteYou have gotten more rain than we have, but it was pouring here over night. Love those fabric bundles. I am spending today stitching mostly. I hope you enjoy doing the same.
ReplyDeleteNice package! cute little button tags - I could make some of those. And rain is always good for gardens and stitching. Bill passed through here last night and dropped a couple of inches of rain in less than an hour! Our flowers are all very happy.
ReplyDeleteHope you get a rain free day to enjoy some stitching. Those fabrics look so pretty!
ReplyDeletetoday am trying not to drown...pouring cats and dogs all day so far...
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautiful sunshiny, blue sky day yesterday. No rain yet today either, but it's a little grayer. We'll see what happens.
ReplyDeleteThose little hands with a fresh mani are so cute!!
Have a great day!
We could use a little rain here. It threatens and spits, but doesn't pour. Love that sweet little manicure : )
ReplyDeleteKathy, I love getting caught up with you! You are staying busy as always and I love your fabric bundles. I'm wondering if it was a love gift or if you ordered them?
ReplyDeleteWe are just now finishing with mail etc. I was up before six(still on UK time), had laundry done, coffee made before we took Hunter for a walk early. Then of course, we had to stock up on groceries, because it was mother-Hubbards upboard here.
Have a great afternoon.
Hugs and love,
Noreen
I've enjoyed reading back and catching up with you. So glad the T's are doing well at their swim meets!
ReplyDeleteIt seems so funny to read about your garden still growing, as ours is already finished. I wish the heat didn't kill the plants here so early! When you're enjoying your cucumbers and tomatoes, from your garden, we'll be back to buying them at the store :(
