Slow Stitching Again

It has been a busy weekend, but I did get in some time with needle and thread In spite of all the busyness.

We spent Friday with the two older grands - fun times!  I had hopes of getting out to play some laser tag, but with snow falling, I just wasn't sure that it was worth the risk of getting out on the road. We made the best of being housebound. ;-)

I spent Saturday in the sewing room working on the Christmas ornament gifts. It took almost all day but I got them done!  The two on the left will go to my sister and the two on the right will go to DD. These are made using the fabric I bought at Hancock's of Paducah when we were there last weekend. I have plenty left, and I'm thinking of using the fabrics on the left to make a Christmassy table runner or wall quilt ... some day. I've got to finish up my storm at sea and my two hexi projects first.

Sunday after church, I was able to do some hand quilting on the aforementioned storm at sea. I got all the unstitching and re-stitching done on another hoop-full. When I sit back down with it next time, I'll have to move the hoop. I'm making progress - slowly ... but slow can be underrated.
I'm going to link up to Kathy's quilts for Slow Stitching Sunday.

Several of you mentioned using your iPads for just about everything now ... which leads me to a question:  do you all use your iPad for blogging?  I've been using mine to compose my blog posts, but I have yet to figure out how to insert links or pictures using a URL.  Any help or advice?

I'm not sure how much I'll be around Blogville the next couple of weeks ... crazy busy ... so I'm going to take a break from blogging. I hope to continue to visit, but I can't make any promises.  In the meantime, have a blessed Christmas season.

Kathy

  4. So glad to hear your storm at sea is making you feel happier...and that it's time to move the hoop, which is always exciting for a hand quilter!
    Love the ornaments!
    Thanks for linking up!

  5. I have a blogger app and it is handy for putting up quick posts from the road. It has limited layout options though. It will insert a photo, but only at the bottom of a post. I don't think it will do hyperlinks. Still, when you are out and about without a computer it does the job. Enjoy your hand quilting.

  7. Love your ornaments! I love my iPad but use my laptop for blogging and most typing. Guess I've never pursued just using my iPad. I have a MacBook Air which doesn't weigh much more than my iPad. Have a great week! ~Jeanne

  8. LOVE the ornaments. Soo pretty and it is a perfect touch of "you" on their trees. I might give that a whirl next year. Glad you are back to stitching on your storm at sea quilt. I do not have an i-pad so I am kind of interested to see if others use them to blog. I have my trusty lap top but it is getting old and has many quirks, lol. Enjoy these days Kathy crazy busy or not!

  10. Hi,
I've been off-line a good bit, so I wanted to hop over and catch up with you.
It seems you are busy, busy, busy, these days! Aren't we all?!
I love the ornaments that you made! You're so blessed with talent :)
Enjoy these days leading up to Christmas. I'll be back to visit whenever I can.

  11. Kathy...I really love the ornaments you made! They'd look so pretty on a tree! I visit blogs on my iPad, but I haven't had any luck with composing my posts on it and uploading pictures to my blog. Would love some solutions, as well. Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a Christmas banner...I'll be picking a winner tomorrow! :)

  13. Such cute, cute ornaments. Wouldn't a tree full of them be beautiful? :o)

  16. What beautiful projects! I have a small tablet (a Samsung Galaxy), and I don't really use it for blogging. I love it, and I do read blogs on it, but for posting at my own blog, I still use a PC. I do have a little keyboard attached to the Samsung, but it's still kind of tedious for typing a lot. Mine is the smaller version of the Galaxy, so maybe if it were the large one, I might use it for blogging.

  18. Love your little ornaments Kathy! So darn CUTE!!! And I always enjoy a sneaky peek at your SAS - Wow!!! As for your question about iPad and blogging - I haven't found a way to add links either. I can add pictures through the BlogPress ap but they are fuzzy, which doesn't make me happy. It serves in a pinch when I am traveling, but at home I definitely prefer my laptop for blogging!

Merry Christmas to you and yours this holiday season Kathy! It has been a pleasure getting to know you this year - looking forward to sharing 2014!
