We headed up to DD's not long after we got the phone call ... we needed to deliver the electrical cord for their PS3 player ... and to get some time with our favorite people. We had carry out Chinese from a new (to us) restaurant ... yummy!
We got home in time for me to pick up my needle and thread and get in hand quilting on my Storm at Sea while watching the Blues.
I've moved the hoop twice now after getting all the old, ugly stitches removed and replaced. I'm making progress, slowly but surely. I know I've said it before, but I'm so veryglad that I decided to rip out those ugly stitches ... it's looking much, much better, if I do say so myself. Instead of dreading working on it, I'm finding myself looking forward to the times when I get pick up my needle and thread. ;-)
I'm going to link up to Slow Sunday Stitching http://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/2013/12/last-slow-sunday-stitching-for-2013.html ... if you want some quilty eye candy, come on over to see what the other slow stitchers are working on.
Hope you're having a blessed Sunday!
Kathy
Kathy, It is nice to have an ongoing project and be able to pick it up here and there during the day. So amazing what we can get done it we plan a bit. So glad you are happy with your stitching, it doesn't get better than that.
ReplyDeleteThat stomach bug seems to be everywhere. It's one I want to avoid too. Glad you were able to stich with a clean house.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you dodged that bullet - there is so much sickness going around right now! I'm hoping to be clear of it now that I'm recovering from the bronchitis - slowly but surely :*) You are going to be finished with that quilt before you know it... and it is going to be a treasure forever!
ReplyDeleteThough it is sad to miss out on visitors, you also missed out on their stomach bug. Glad you used the time or a little quiet stitching. It is always nice to get to the point of enjoyment instead of worrying over the stitches.
ReplyDeleteWe visited my husband's cousin over Christmas. I think that stomach flu has been passed around to 15 or 16 family members so far, including me and my husband (although him not near as bad as me). Be thankful your sis didn't bring it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to spend the day. I don't know if I would be happy with that gift either. Though my son and his family that were there have all come down with something since, and they were here.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are off to a great week on that quilt. Stay warm. Is it very cold there?
So glad they didn't bring the bug to you guys. And you have a clean house and got to work on your quilt. Sounds like a great day!
