The Weekend Wrap-up (Condensed)

They swam. We cheered. I shopped.

There you have it in a nutshell.

Seriously, it was a crazy busy weekend ... to be followed by perhaps an even crazier busy week (hence the Wrap-up on Monday evening instead of Monday morning).

Friday I spent my day with DD and the Ts. I was enlisted to be a helper on the pottery field trip. Turns out the little ones (the ones I was to supervise/get paint for, etc.) finished up before the two bigger ones ... so I got to do a little painting too. Here's a quick photo of our morning's efforts.

Saturday and Sunday mornings were spent at the swim meet over in West St. Louis county. T#1 dropped times on all but a couple events ... T#2 dropped time on about half her events. I was able to get in a few hours of quilting while we watched the last of the hockey game and It's A Wonderful Life.

Sunday after the meet, DD and I spent the afternoon and a good chunk of the evening together, wrapping up Christmas shopping. Needless to say, I was exhausted when I got home ... it wasn't a Slow Stitching Sunday at achey Nana. ;-)

I'm not sure if there will be a Slow Stitching Any Day this week with as busy as I'm going to be. DD and my dad keep me busy, and I miss my time with needle and thread ... but I can't say that I regret being able to help them out.

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a great day!
Kathy

  1. Feels pretty good to get the shopping out of the way. I miss those days of crafts, though! Glad the swimming continues. It will help out with college. Just enjoy, and relax. I would love to learn to quilt. If I move back to StL, I will look you up!

  2. This time of year is so busy... Your weekend sounds a lot like mine. My shopping isn't quite finished but getting close. And I'm afraid my week will be like yours too! Someday when I have everyday to sit and sew, I'll probably be bored! I'm thankful that we are able to enjoy these busy days. Enjoy! ~Jeanne

  3. Congratulations to the T's on dropping some of their swim times! It sounds like busy times, but enjoyable because you are with your family. I hope you can squeeze in some quilting/relaxing time this week.

  4. Busy, busy! I had to get the calendar out to mark it up for everything going on the next two weeks - and pointed it out to hubby when he thinks of mentioning the house is not clean! Hope you can squeeze in a little you time for stitching this week.

  5. I cope best with being super busy by having something ready to stitch so I can... as I have 5 minutes.. put in a few stitches... it also helps me remember things I may have forgotten... but if you aren't even home that may not be an option. sending you happy thoughts as I stitch :) Kathi

  8. I know now why I never seem to get any stitching done in December. It is because I live in the car. :)
I think it looks like you have had a wonderful weekend though.

  9. I love to paint pottery! I haven't done it in years. Maybe I need to sched. a little "me" time to do just that!

  10. It's that time of the year, isn't it? Well, at least we have the slow month of January to look forward to! Take care.

  11. 'Tis the season, may be after Christmas before you have too many slow stitching days. :o))

But, it does sound like slow stitching is replaced with some fun things with the T's and DD.

    Happy week!
