Friday Ramblings

  • The sun is shining today ... and it looks like Spring may be making a surprise visit next week ... temperatures in the mid 50's!  As you all may know, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE snow ... but I'm growing weary of all this COLD weather ... and am looking forward to some warmer weather.
  • I'm not scheduled to work for the next 5 days!
  • And what wonderful 5 days they will be!  I hope to be able to get some piecing done today and tomorrow.  I'm just short of having half the blocks put together ... I've been working on this top since just after Christmas ... I know I'll get this done - eventually.  ha!
  • Sunday we'll be attending T#1's birthday party ... he turns 9 on Wednesday.  His mama and daddy are taking him (and T#2) on a surprise trip to Chicago (to visit Legoland - that boy LOVES Legos!).
  • Since mama and daddy are taking T#1 and T#2 to Chicago, that means Nana will get to have T#3 and T#4 here for a couple of days ... and those of you who are grandmas can imagine how excited I am at that prospect.  :-)
  • DH has a stress test scheduled for this morning; he's been having some chest pain that appears to have been resolved with increasing his Nexium, but his primary care doctor wants him to have a stress test to make sure that his heart isn't causing this pain (his cholesterol is high and he's got heart disease in his family).
  • 5 weeks from tomorrow, we'll be leaving for our annual spring training trip.  We're going to be staying in southern Florida; our motel is just a short walk from the beach.  We're hoping to add in a day visiting the Florida Keys.
Have a fabulous Friday!

  1. Legoland, I've never heard of that. Bet that's a fun place for a little boy,or a big boy too.

Yes, I love me some cookie dough too but just can't forget that it has raw eggs in it. Yuck!

Enjoy your time off and have an especially great Valentine's week-end!

  3. That warmer weather will be a nice break for you. Have fun at the party. We have a Legoland in San Diego. I wish it would have been around when my son was young, he was so into them. Hope the stress test goes well, I had one a few years ago. Even though we have nice weather here in CA I am looking forward to going to Florida next week. Enjoy your weekend.

  5. My youngest daughter and I took my nephews to Legoland in the UK when they came to visit. Their parents spent the day in London kid-free and my daughter and I had been looking for an excuse to check out Legoland so everyone was happy.

    Enjoy Florida-sounds fabulous to me!

  9. ..and here I am wishing for just a little more snowy weather ;-)

I wish I quilted. My mom did and made some beautiful quilts. It took her months though and I just don't have that kind of attention span.

Hope hubby's test come out ok ~ let us know!
