Today, I'm taking the time to be intentionally thankful for:
- Road crews - the main roads are all pretty clear, and the secondary roads are passable.
- Sunshine - after cloudy skies for the last 3-4 days, it's nice to see some sunshine today ... and the sparkling ice is pretty
- Changed weather forecasts - while I am disappointed that we didn't get much snow, I'm very thankful that we didn't get the 1 inch (or more) of ice that was in the forecast on Monday. Just 30-40 miles to the east, ice wreaked quite a bit of havoc.
- My hubby - he drove me to work this morning and dropped me off at the door so I wouldn't have to walk in from the employee parking lot (a 10+ minute walk) in the cold (it was 0 here this morning); I have Raynaud's, and no matter how warmly I dress, I feel the effects of the cold.
- Snow days - being a part-time, temporary employee, I don't get benefits, so I don't get paid when the University closes. Even so, there's still something liberating about getting an unexpected day off.
Glag you got to work ok today!
ReplyDeleteWe're waiting for snow here in Texas. We're supposed to get 1-3 inches and that's a really big deal around here. Seeing some of the newscasts about folks that were stranded in their cars - that's just awful!!! I'm hoping we'll at least get to go to work late tomorrow - no chance for a whole day off, but I'll take what I can get :-D
ReplyDeleteLuckily we did not get snow this time around! Stay warm and safe. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteI have Raynaud's as well so I know what you mean about walking in the cold. My boss lets me park as close as I can to the door so I can get into the building as fast as possible. We heard this morning that more snow is coming our way this Saturday and then again on Tuesday!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard about all of the snow. it is amazing how much you all got.

I'm so glad your weather forecast changed and that your hubby drove you to work.
ReplyDeleteOur skies have been gloomy all week.
I hope to see the sun soon.
How sweet of your husband to drive you. Glad it wasn't as bad and they predicted and also that you didn't get the ice. It is the worse! Hope you stay warm & cozy this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've thought of you many times during this crazy weather up there. Hope you can stay warm. Our area usually gets just the ice, but this year, we've had a lot more snow, thank goodness! We're also watching that snow chance the middle of next week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on the Flat Belly! I think it's a thing of the past after 3 c-sections, too. Oh, well. It doesn't really bother me. I am what I am. :op
Have a blessed week-end,
Karen
Oh, that shivers me! Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to reading your post that is "all about you." :o) Happy week!
