It was a busy but wonderful weekend. I was sorry to see it come to an end.
A relaxing Friday was a great start to the weekend. I spent a few hours stitching up hexagons ... I would have liked to have spent more time with my needle and thread, but I'm still trying to take it easy on that finger until it's fully healed. And it was ok ... by the time I finished up it was almost dinner time ... and time for T#4 to come over for a sleepover at Nana's. ❤
Saturday morning came quickly as we had to leave by 7:15 for a 2-hour trip up to Jacksonville for another swim meet. We packed up a lot of books for entrainment - although I think dropping the books into the floor as ahe finished "reading" them and then asking Nana to hand her another one was as entertaining as "reading" them was. ;-)
It was a long day, but she was a real trooper.
We got home in time to reset our clocks ... and an early bedtime.
We bookended our weekend with another relaxing day Sunday. I spent a few more hours stitching ... I have 3 blocks completed, and it won't take much to finish up the 4th.
What a cutie she is! Sounds like a great weekend! So glad the finger continues to heal. Hope your week is also wonderful. If I could stop the cold and dark of winter - I would...-Jeanne
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good week-end. Soo glad your back to stitching! I was ready for bed at eight last night, haha...Don't like this time change either. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a busy fun filled weekend. No wonder you are worn out.
ReplyDeleteI don't like winter either.
I'm not looking forward to the shorter, colder days either! This time change is already giving me a hard time, too...
ReplyDeleteMy daughter really likes to eat at Steak n Shake. We haven't tried it yet.
I am so not looking forward to the winter with the short days.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds lkike it was a good weekend.
Sounds like your weekend was a full one!
ReplyDeleteI love your hexie project. I recognize some of the fabrics as Kansas Troubles--are they all? No one around me sells them and I haven't been to a shop that has them for a while, so I haven't seen any of the recent fabrics--like two years worth! : )
What an awesome way to spend the day! We are rolling into Basketball season with the oldest granddaughter so will be busy!
ReplyDeleteI love the fall season, the chill, the smells, the colors. But I, like you Nana, dislike shorter days!
Love the Hexies!
The time has got me all goofed up, not a fan of the shorter days either, but I am enjoying the cooler weather (can't believe I just said that :-) Love the photo of you holding little grands hand...you did have quite a busy weekend. (sounds like a great way to spend a weekend though) Have a great week
ReplyDeleteHi, I don't know why I never thought to look up other empty nester's before. This is great!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the shorter days either, but since I can't do a thing about it, I'll cope. ;) Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. So glad your finger is getting back to normal!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty girl. I bet you had fun. I am so glad you got to stitch some. I am with you on the time change, I was so ready for bed at 7:30 I felt like I had to work at staying awake until 9:00 it seemed so late.
ReplyDeleteAt least this morning was nice. Once it gets cold though a lot changes.
Have a nice day.
She is adorable! Glad you are able to stitch a little. Your hexies look great. The time change sure does mess up sleep times for everyone. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet time with #4. Things to be cherished for sure.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend and fun day going to Jacksonville with the kids. Your hexagons are looking wonderful, it is going to be so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi dear friend, Your granddaughter is so adorable!!! We are so blessed!
ReplyDeleteI just started quilting a quilt for our Peanut-her mom made the top so I'm doing the stitching(which makes Peanut very happy). Hope you have a great day-I only have one more dr. appt and then a dentist and I'll be through for the year(I hope).
Sending hugs your way.
Noreen
You are not alone. I love the snow until the end of Feb and then it is a long long time before Spring....
ReplyDeletewinter is never easy here
It seems so strange to sit down to dinner when it is dark outside. Both hubby and I have jobs where we work at home so dinner is usually around 5:30 - 5:45 p.m. We used to sit outside and eat now that the air has chilled and it is dark it's not an option. Now we can stitch longer since it gets dark earlier - :). Anyways I enjoyed reading about your lovely weekend with the grands! Your granddaughter is adorable! Love your hexies. A great project to do while watching a good movie or show.
ReplyDeleteOh, she's a little doll and I envy you having your grands near! :)
ReplyDeleteI felt like it was bedtime at 6 tonight! I don't like this time!
So glad you are back to stitching, at least, part time. What a fun weekend. Oh, I've been ready for bed at least by 7:30 every night this week. Ugh!!!
