After being offline for just 1 day? Crazy. I had visions of spending all day in the sewing room, getting a bunch more blocks pieced together … but here it is, going on 10:30 and I’m still online. I did get in my walk with Lois this morning, but the rest of my morning has been spent getting caught up. As soon as I get my blog caught up, I can go sew … so let’s get this party started. Ha!
I met the bus at a nearby shopping mall (about 30 minutes from here) at 6:30 and we were off … on our way to Paducah. I could hardly hold in my excitement. And the show didn’t disappoint! There were so many breathtaking quilts! Even the ones that weren’t to my taste were fantastic – the workmanship and time that went into all those beauties is unbelievable. I took probably 80-100 pictures of the quilts (and there were plenty that “didn’t make the cut”).
I loved getting to chat with “quilting celebrities” and with show winners … I loved being inspired and motivated … I loved learning about new products and techniques. I could have easily spent another day there as I didn’t have the time to visit any of the remote sites … not to mention taking a workshop or two. It was a long and exhausting day, but I loved every minute of it. Maybe next year I can find a way to make it at least a 2-day visit.
Time to go … my Kiss block pieces are calling me. Have a great day, y’all!
