Still Slow Stitching at the Beach

We're still here at the beach ... and if it weren't for just how very much I'm missing 6 of my most favorite people, I do believe we'd stay here!

I'm making progress on my MWFG blocks. As of this morning,I have finished up 5 blocks and am seeing the end in sight on the 6th. Not too shabby for 7 full days here ... after all, the beach has been vying for a lot of my time and attention!  ;-)

Normally we've been heading south on our beach walks, but Friday we decided to head north.  We used to see sand dollars all the time here on HHI, but the last 3-4 trips, we haven't seen a single live sand dollar. And we'd never seen a starfish (live or otherwise) here.  I think DH was relieved when I told him that I wouldn't stop to make more pictures of these sea creatures after we turned around and headed back to our condo.  ;-)

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy!  Have a great day!
Kathy

As for the sea creatures I found the pictures VERY interesting so you just tell your DH that your readers very much appreciate that you took the time to take a few snaps and share them with the likes of me.

  7. one time on the coast of Vancouver Island on the northern tip we saw a lot of star fish all over the place but they were clinging to the rocks not walking on the beach! that is so interesting to see the "walk" I have never seen a star fish since then. I do not know if they come in all colors or if it was the rock/water combination but the ones we saw were shades of orange/reds and greens/browns and some yellow.

  8. My favorite thing to do in the whole world - or at least one of them - is walking on the beach and picking up shells :) I'm so jealous right now! And it looks as though you are combining your love of quilting with your love of the sea in perfect amounts! Your MW blocks are coming along beautifully!

  12. The starfish is very cool! So, I guess last week we didn't pass each other on the interstate, but we were on the same interstate, probably at the same time!

  20. I've never seen a live starfish at the beach that I can recall. However, I did see them at the aquarium the other day and actually touched one. Loved it.

I've seen lots of sand dollars but that was many years ago when we used to go to Jekyll Island.

Glad you are enjoying your beach vacation.

  21. I wondered if you were still at the beach. I know you're having fun!

I don't know how you can concentrate on stitching while at the beach. I find it difficult to concentrate on anything other than my surroundings when I'm near the ocean :)

Loved your pictures, by the way!
