Finally Friday?

It’s been an odd week.  On the one hand, it’s flown by … on the other hand it also feels like it’s been a long week.  Crazy, I know.

While I’m waiting for T#3’s fabrics to arrive, I finished piecing together DH’s log cabin top and began the quilting.

The colors are a little washed out in this photo … I took it as I was quilting Wednesday evening … under artificial lighting.  You can get a better idea of the actual colors here.  I’m thinking that I’ll stop working on this quilt when his fabrics arrive so I can get started on his quilt … but maybe I’ll get in a little quilting in the evenings while watching a movie or hockey with DH.

I think I have success on the new doctor front.  Originally my daughter had recommended a family physician … but when I search the database of providers for my insurance, she wasn’t on the list.  It turns out that I searched for the name she goes by (Becky) where my insurance company lists her by her given name (Mary R.).  Not only is she taking new patients, but she doesn’t require an “establish care” appointment before seeing me for a “real” appointment (my well woman exam and mammogram orders).  Thumbs up

Insomnia is once again trying to become my new BFF.  Annoyed  Even though I was very tired when I went to bed last night, I tossed and turned for what felt like forever … and I was wide awake this morning at 4:00-ish … I tried to fall back asleep, but I gave up after about 20 minutes.  We’re going to have an early morning tomorrow … T#1 and T#2 have a swim meet over in West St. Louis (about an hour away from here), and we’re going to need to be there by 7:00 - AM.  Surprised smile  I suspect it’ll be a very early bedtime tonight.  ha!

It looks like it’s going to rain all. day. long … there’s a front stretching from the Kansas-Colorado border to Louisville, KY.  I think it’ll be a perfect day for sitting in my recliner, quilting.  First, however, I need to run to DD’s … she’s asked for a little help with the Ts on the homeschooling group field trip.  I confess she didn’t have to twist my arm to get me to help out.  Red heart  A day that has time with my Ts *and* quilting … pretty close to perfect in my book.

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy.  Have a great day!
Kathy

  3. Glad you were able to find a doctor. I finally found a doctor that I really like this year. It is gloomy here and we are expecting some rain. Today is cleaning day for me. I always feel good when I am done. Sure wish the sun the was shining!

  4. It's been a weird week for me too, lol. If all goes as planned I will write a post later telling everyone of my wild day yesterday, haha, (come on admit it, you are on the tip of your seat!) So glad you found a good doc to use. I'm sorry you suffer from insomnia...one of my sister's has that too and honestly it sounds like no fun at all. I on the other hand doze off as soon as I sit still long enough which can be an issue at times too, lol. Doesn't go well with TV that's for sure. Enjoy your week-end Kathy!

  12. Glad you found a doctor! Our doctor is out of network, so we have to pay more, but I can't stand the thought of changing.....We are already getting notices about changes in our insurance starting in January and it makes me so mad because our premiums are out the roof!

You are so fortunate to be able to be near the grands and do stuff with them often!!!

  14. Insomnia seems to run rampant in my family. A daughter, a son and a SIL have been telling me about something that is helping them. I guess you can search it on the web. MINDFULNESS--apparently there are books and videos about it and they all claim it has made a big difference for them. One of them has suffered with sleeplessness for decades.

  15. Oh, it has drizzled rain here all week long but think it's going to be a nice weekend at our daughter's where we'll be going tomorrow.

I suffer from mild insomnia and it aggravates me too death because I have slept soundly my entire life.

    Wishing you a great weekend!

  16. Oh, insomnia - how I despise those nights! And then going to bed early just makes for another early early rising - at least for me.

  17. Oh yes - anytime you can spend with the T's is a great time! I sure enjoyed seeing all of mine at Thanksgiving :) We've had nothing but gray skies and rain since we returned home, which goes perfectly with the colds we brought home too ugh!!!! But there's nothing "ugh" about your Log Cabin quilt - it's just gorgeous!!!!

  18. Hi my friend, I so understand not getting sleep-I was awake until about 3:00a.m. this morning-grrr, so I am tired too. This week, I have to have a root canal and then next week blood work and seeing my gp. I'm so tired of doctors. Praying my blood work is better so I don't have to keep going in every 3 mos. Hope you had a great day today.
    Hugs, Noreen
