The Long Weekend Wrap-Up

It was a relaxing, yet productive weekend here at Chez Nana.

Saturday started with a trip to the local hospital for my weekly blood draw (which are normally done on Mondays but this week's draw had to be bumped up because the lab was closed for the holiday). Once I got home, I headed straight for the sewing room. I discovered that I can watch movies on my iPad, thanks to my Amazon Prime account. We have a tv in the sewing room, but we're waiting for our IT expert (aka DSIL) to hook it and the DVD player up. And not only that, I discovered that I can watch the Cardinals play while sewing.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. I spent Sunday and Monday afternoons in the sewing room, watching the Cardinals. A wonderful way to spend a long weekend.

Here's where I stopped Monday afternoon.

I am still uncertain how big I want to make this wall hanging. It's going to hang above our bed, which is king sized, so I'm kind of leaning toward 45" square, which would mean I need to make 49 blocks (set 7x7). I've currently got 31 blocks pieced, so if I go with 45" square, I have 18 left to make. I pieced 5 blocks yesterday without breaking my neck, taking breaks to play Word Chums and to chat with DH. So It shouldn't take me too awfully long to finish the remaining 18 blocks.

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy ... have a great day!
Kathy

  2. I use my Ipad and laptop a lot for watching shows when I quilt in the sewing room. I used to have a tv in there but it wasn't working right with the satellite dish so we took it out. Really with Amazon Prime and Netflix I have plenty to watch while I quilt in the sewing room with not tv!

  8. Hi sweet friend, I bet you'll have it done before I finish my binding and have my pillow shams made. Great job and the colors will match perfectly.
    Love,

  9. You are making great progress on your wall hanging! I just got Amazon's Prime program and I love the variety of videos to watch. It also seems to stream better than Hulu or Netflix. I cancelled both of them.

  12. Wow - you are moving right along on your wall hanging! Loves those blues and whites of course :*). Isn't it wonderful the options we have available to us through modern technology? Sometimes I get frustrated with the problems it can cause, but then I remember the conveniences it gives me too :*)

  14. Hello! I'm so sorry I haven't been over to visit in a while, but the garden has been keeping me busy, lately.

I've gone back and read all of your posts to get caught up. I'm SO glad you are doing so well. You seem to be tolerating this round of chemo well :)

As always, your quilting project is beautiful. You have so much talent.

I'm in awe of your home make overs! You know how much I love the beach, too, so this is right up my alley.

So sorry about T#1's broken thumb, but thank goodness it wasn't worse! I love the red cast :)

    Until next time, take care.
