Weekend Wrap Up
Once again, my weekend didn’t go exactly according to my Saturday morning plans … but you know something, that’s ok … because those changed plans usually involve the Ts … and they did this weekend!
As you know, DD moved a couple of weeks ago … from a house in the middle of the country to a subdivision in town … from a house on a 3-acre lot where the next door neighbor was a good ways away to a house on a small subdivision lot with the next door neighbor right there. They’re thrilled with their new house, but they really were feeling the fishbowl effect with no drapes yet (the living room and dining area have bays that bump up, with less than 84” clearance from floor to bulkhead, so all the drapes have to be shortened 4-1/2” to 4-3/4”). I was quilting when DD called and asked if I could come over and shorten her drapes for her. Of course, I said yes … an added benefit of helping her out meant the end of the DTs. An extra bonus was the bouquet of flowers that the Ts cut from their garden. How sweet was that?
While I was there, T#2 was fascinated by my sewing on the machine … she and I talked about my teaching her to sew … I can’t wait.
We had a bell choir perform at church this morning … it was pretty amazing at the beautiful sounds that can be made by bells. We had lunch with DD’s family and her dad and stepmom afterwards. It was a good thing that it was a family-friendly restaurant as T#3 was especially fidgety and T#4 was fussy (I think I know what a couple of little ones did as soon as they got home from lunch!). I spent the afternoon doing some preplanning for our upcoming trip; we’ll be flying so I had to check to see what I had in travel-sized containers so I’ll know what to add to my shopping list. I had my weekly “conference call” with my dad and my 2 sisters … we discussed the upcoming trip (where we’d like to eat, sights we’d like to see, etc.). And I wrapped up the weekend with a little hand quilting.

those bell choirs are so neat to hear!! I always enjoy their performances! glad you could help out with the drapes for your daughter! how fun to teach one of the T's to sew, I bet that would be a great bonding experience for the two of you when she is ready!
ReplyDeletesounds like it was a great weekend!!

I love the bell choirs...I lack musical anything so am always impressed with people who can make music. Beautiful music...I make music but it is less than beautiful : )
ReplyDeleteI was in a bell choir for the first time this past Christmas. What fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing you are to your daughter; I'm sure she is so grateful to have you so close (especially since you sew :). I'm still giddy from being with my grands...but missing them.
Have a wonderful week, Kathy!
I have never heard a bell choir in person. I saw it once on TV during some Christmas special and it was really fun to watch and her. So glad you got to your daughter and enjoyed your weekend after all.
ReplyDeleteI love the music from the bell choir. It is so angelic I think. it is great to be able to help your daughter with her new house. Glad you had a good weekend...Sometimes the spontaneous plans are the best ones...
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to run over and fix her curtains. That's what we do as mothers! I am sure it's hard to get use to living with neighbors so close after being out in the middle of country.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday to you, What joy to have your girl so close and be able to help so much. My girls and grands make my life so rich. I wish I was out in the country but I am blessed with where I am. So where are you going on your trip? I too love bell choirs-such beautiful music. Have a blessed day my friend.
