The Weekend Wrap-up

Another weekend has come and gone … where oh where did the weekend go?  Even though I’m retired, I look forward to the weekends, and they still seem to fly by so quickly.  <sigh>

My weekend started with some T-time.  Red heart  I picked them up early Friday morning, and since they hadn’t had breakfast, we stopped at the store to pick up donuts for breakfast.  We played, had lunch at McDonald’s, made a trip to the library and went to swim practice.  By the time I got back home, it was already after 7:00 … a long day, but a fabulous one.

I had plans for more T-time on Saturday, but DD wasn’t feeling very well that morning, so she cancelled her plans and stayed home with her little ones.  So I spent a good part of the afternoon with needle and thread … my second favorite activity.  Winking smile  I finished quilting the blocks and got to work on the borders.  It’s a Wonderful Life (one of my favorite movies, certainly my favorite Christmas movie) was on TV, so DH and I had another movie night.

I did get to see my Ts at church Sunday morning.  After lunch, I had my weekly “conference call” with my dad and my sisters.  I was able to get in another couple of hours with needle and thread … although my time wasn’t as productive as it was Saturday afternoon, as I had mismarked several hatching rows and had to rip out a good bit of stitching.  Confused smile  I re-marked and re-stitched … and now I’m checking the angles on my marking lines before I stitch.  DH and I had another movie night … The Fugitive was on TV, and since it’s one of DH’s favorite movies, we watched it (again … I’ll bet we’ve seen it at least 10 times).

I’ve got a fairly busy day today.  I’m meeting a group of women from church again for our monthly breakfast … afterwards I’ve got a little shopping to do.  I hope to get my Christmas gifts wrapped tomorrow afternoon, and we have small group tomorrow evening.

  6. I have to get some of my wrapping done this week...or I'm going to be snowed under! I've even received some things in the mail that I ordered for the girls. I haven't even had time to open them up yet! It's a wonderful, yet crazy time of year!

  7. Kathy - you sounded busy - but fun busy. With the kids. That is the best part. I love It's A Wonderful Life - I have to see that every Christmas. Sounds like a great weekend.

  11. Bummer for the ripping out, but if you're like me, you have to do that or else you'll always see the mistake. I'm impressed you can do hand quilting!

  12. Sounds like a good weekend. Hope DD is feeling better. I bet your breakfast was fun. Reading this I just decided that when the gifts start arriving in the mail I am going to wrap them up rather than shove them in the closet for later!
