September ... Where Did You Come From?

I don't know about you all, but I am having a difficult time wrapping my brain around the fact that it's September already! We're 2/3 of the way through the year!

August certainly flew by ... it was a spectacular month. We got to see the Ts swim at their conference championships, at the regional championships, and bring home some medals and trophies ... we got to see them celebrate a birthday ... and we closed the month with a visit from my sister. We were supposed to have both of my sisters here, but K's pup had some serious health issues that required her to stay home so her pup could get the care she needed. We missed her but had a good time in spite of her absence. DD and her family came over yesterday ... I really enjoyed having 4 generations of my family together.
This is my sister L with T#2 and T#4 (sorry it's blurry ... I didn't think to grab my camera ... just used my iPhone). I wish I would have thought to have gotten a picture of the 3 of them with DD and me ... 3 generations of the women in my family. I didn't take too many pictures ... we were just having too good a time visiting.

We dropped L off at the airport this morning bright and early. There's absolutely nothing else on my schedule today, and I'm really looking forward to a nice, quiet day. I plan to do some sewing ... I'd really like to get T#4's blocks finished this week ... maybe even together so I can start hand quilting next week?

It's going to be a busy week ... DD celebrates her 39th (for real) birthday this week, so we'll be planning some fun, and I need to put together some projects for my guild's retreat this weekend.

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a marvelous Monday!

  1. I have to say I thought this was your daughter. You have a very young looking sister for someone who has a daughter turning 39 (my oldest daughter just turned 35 and none of my sisters look that young)! : )

  2. Glad the visit went well!! She does look young. I got to thinking, don't think I have ever seen pic of your daughter? Does she not want to be pictured, or have I just missed it. Today is my middle son's 38th birthday! How is it our children have gotten so old? lol My oldest is 41 41!!!!! We are lunching today with him and having a kick back day. Back to sewing tomorrow. Got the backing for the civil war quilt...flannel. Enjoy your day!

  4. Hi Kathy! Sounds like you had a busy month of August! I love seeing family photos, so thank you for posting this one. It didn't look blurry to me. What a beautiful family.

We're having a quiet morning, my Dad is coming over for dinner. We have a massive zucchini that is only good for making bread, so that's what I'll be doing this afternoon! Not a burden, I like to bake!
I love retreats, so I hope you enjoy yours, and your birthday celebrations too. It's good to celebrate :)
    Blessings,

  5. So glad you got time with one sister, but as everyone already commented-she is so young looking!
We had friends for lunch yesterday, but today with our colds, we are just being lazy. Hard to believe that it is Sept. already.
    Have a great, quiet day!

  6. Me too, I can't believe it is September already! Sounds like you had a nice time and family mean everything to me. We had Adam and Tristen over yesterday, of course Amber lives here and we had the best day ever just talking, eating, laughing and loving each other! Hope the pup is doing better and Happy Birthday to DD!

  8. I was ok with it being September until you put it that way. LOL It's still so hot I keep thinking it's still August. With no relief in sight. I'm glad to know that someone else keeps getting blurry pix with their phone. Not glad the pix are blurry, just that someone else is having trouble with that. LOL

  10. Ugh, I know what you mean. This Summer was mostly a blur to me, and as hot as it still is - I'm perfectly okay with some cooler weather on the way!
How nice that you got to spend time with extended family, and some good looking family at that!Enjoy your retreat.
