That’s what it feels like I’ve been on the last couple of days. But it’s been a fun ride, even if it’s kept me busy as a bee!
Tuesday morning, I took the 3 younger Ts to the Y … T#2 and T#3 had swim lessons, while T#4 went to the Child Care room. DD met up with us as the lessons were ending and invited me to join them at the Water Park in a nearby small town.
Yesterday morning, I took T#1 to swim practice for conference competition this Saturday while DD took the rest of the crew back to the Y for their lessons. When I got home, I went straight to the sewing room. My intention was to piece together a couple of blocks and then get to work around the house … that didn’t happen. I was on such a roll with sewing, that I just spent the rest of the morning and all afternoon with my storm at sea pieces … I didn’t even make the bed yesterday (I admit that I had to shut the door so that unmade bed wouldn’t shame me ). I got another 4 blocks sewn.
I got a phone call after dinner to join DD and the Ts at the Y again for open swim. While the 3 bigger Ts are regular little fishies, T#4 wanted nothing whatsoever to do with the water.(See the unhappy face, even when she’s in Mama’s arms?) DD has decided that it’s time for her to get over her fear of water and finally had success last night! With a floatie pack on her back, T#4 was able to dog paddle herself all around the pool! She loved it so much that any time one of us got too close, she shooed us away.
While I would much rather spend all day in the sewing room again today, I really must get some work done around the house first … THEN I can sew!
Have a great day!
Yes, it sounds like you're staying busy, but in a good way :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that T#4 is beginning to enjoy the water. Another future champion swimmer in the making :)
What an adorable picture of your granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Yes, a GOOD busy! I know how you feel about REALLY wanting to get to that machine though, haha. I purchased the fabric for the Christmas runners yesterday, but had to order the templates I wanted to use so can't get started till they arrive. Meanwhile, I have come up with ANOTHER easy, small project to begin practicing my quilting on (tote bags) and ordered all the fabric I need for those today. I am going to make 3 I think. By the time I make 8 runners and 3 tote bags I SHOULD be ready for a little bit bigger quilt, haha. I am feeling a tiny bit obsessive here...but it's a good fever I think. Today I am spending with one of my grands...lunch and a movie. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture with that look on her face. What a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI am glad she is doing so much better.
I have days like that but I don't think I can go all day with not making my bed. You make me laugh. I can't ever sew unless I have cleaned first. I wish it wasn't like that but I have decided it is how I am wired.
I do hope you get lots of time to sew today.
I hope you are swimming too.
Hi Kathy, I just got back from a bike ride up in the mountains. I will send the photos of the baby quilt as soon as I'm done; I now want to get back to the quilt I was working on in the fall. Hope you got your chores done and are now sewing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening.
Hugs, Noreen
That's good busy!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! So nice that T#4 likes the water! I vote for sewing then housework - it is still too hot to clean! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteGlad your tomatoes are doing well...yea!! The quilting class is at my church. We are going to make a baby size quilt. I couldn't decide whether to go or not but a friend wanted to go so we are going to do it together. The only problem is...she sews beautifully. I mean she made her two daughters' wedding dresses!!! So, I'll try not to feel intimidated. I will keep you posted! :-)
ReplyDeleteT's and quilting, two of your most favorite ways to spend your time. Good for you! The Princess is coming tomorrow and going to spend the night. These Grans are so special! Hope you got all the "chores" done so you could get back to quilting.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteIt's Viola over at the widowed road. I sure enjoy stopping by and reading how your sewing projects are coming along. What a blessing to be part of the grandkids lives and watch them grown. Blessings all the way around.
God bless the rest of your week.
Hugs, Viola
Oh, poo, housework! So much more fun sewing and playing with grandkids!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week to me! Lot's of special time with the T's and good for you not fixing the bed. I love your dedication to your quilts :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Awww; what a face!!! Glad she overcame her fear!
