First Slow Stitching Sunday of 2015

Slow Sunday Stitching

It’s been a quiet, uneventful weekend here at Chez Nana … but that doesn’t mean that nothing is happening.  There’ve been movies watched, football and basketball games watched, and of course there’s been some hand quilting, too. IMG_2811Oh my, when did my hand become an old lady’s hand?  I’m now halfway through the quilting of the outside blocks along the third side … that means I’m over halfway done with these outside blocks.  I had hoped to get them all quilted and this quilt finished by the end of the weekend so I could start cutting fabric for T#3’s quilt tomorrow morning … hopefully I’ll get this quilt finished by midweek.  A lot will depend on how much life “interferes”.

We’ve had a lot of rain the last couple of days … and while it’s been cold, it hasn’t been cold enough to produce the much-dreaded ice.  Snow I would have enjoyed … ice not so much.  It’s going to get colder before it gets warmer, too. ColdBrrrrrr.  At least there’s snow in the forecast.

That cold weather in the forecast has caused DH and me to dream of a trip to somewhere warm.  Of course, we’ve been there, done that … and encountered record cold weather.  That put the kibosh on those dreams.  Ha!

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a great day!
Kathy

  5. I'm not far from you, but farther north. The temps finally started a downward trend and we have freezing rain and snow now. It's prettier, but I can hear sirens off in the distance announcing possibly someone didn't slow down this morning. I'm wading through fabric today. Quilt dreaming. :D

  6. I hope you get to stay warm all day. That is some really cold temps coming. We have a bit of a warm up next week. I think I will like that for a day or two.
Your quilt looks so nice, I don't think your hands look old.
    Have a lovely Sunday.

  7. What a pretty quilt! I miss seeing my momma quilt. My hands are bothering me quite a bit when I am crocheting or trying to open things. I am thinking maybe carpel tunnel...surely it couldn't be age...lol Have a blessed Sunday.

  14. Yes, "life" does interfere at times doesn't it? But, guess that helps to keep us on our toes and on our knees. :o)) And, the hands.........I had to chuckle on that comment. I do believe that most hands show their age more than their face. I use to think my Mom's hands looked so old and now mine look just like hers. Funny how that happens. Happy week!

  15. We went to Las Vegas the weekend before Christmas hoping for some warm weather, but it did not really happen. I did manage to wear sandals one time. Cold weather is perfect hand quilting weather though!

  16. A little slow stitching for me today but not as much as I hoped. We are entertaining our daughter and 3-year-old grandson, so down time is not very plentiful right now LOL! It's pretty cold here too, dropping into the 20s I think. My daughter is a truck driver and they are stuck in Montana! Expecting 18 inches of snow tonight she says :*O
