*Now* It’s Done

IMG_1097
It took me less time than I’d anticipated to machine stitch the binding to the quilt but more time than I’d anticipated to hand stitch the binding to the back.  When I was still stitching the binding into the second period of the hockey game, I was beginning to wonder if I’d get it done last night … but I persevered and I got it all stitched up as well as washed, dried and ready to be used.  I did have to make a “scrappy” binding … I’m a little reluctant to call it scrappy because it reads as one fabric.

Today my plan is to cut fabric for T#3’s quilt … I’m hoping that I can get a couple of blocks pieced, too.

DH felt better yesterday … he’s still feeling pretty puny, but at least it appears that he’s on the mend.  So far, so good on keeping the bug to himself.

We’ve got warmer weather coming … sounds good, right?  Maybe not … it’s going bring with in some freezing rain and sleet this weekend.
Warming up

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a great day!

  1. It is beautiful! Congrats on this gorgeous finish. I love scrappy bindings and I love little details that you don't notice until you get up close. This fulfills both of those things. Love it!

  10. The quilt turned out so nice. You do nice work. I am glad you are having a bit of a warn up. I been so sick with this bug, I feel so sorry for anyone who gets it so I hope you stay well.
I am glad you are getting a break from all of that very, very cold weather.

  11. Beautiful finish! Hope DH is able to snuggle under it to feel better quick (and keep those germs to himself!). Never good with precipitation and temps in the low 30's. Stay safe (you know - inside quilting!).

  13. A wonderful finish Kathy! I am sure your DH loves it! I look forward to seeing your new t quilt. Is this the one you are going to "decorate". I hope my memory is correct on that. I thought that was so cute! I hope to make my first Log Cabin quilt this year, even if it is a small one.

  14. The quilt is beautiful. Cold weather here too and there are all kinds of "bugs" going around, including the flu. I have wipes in my car and hand sanitizer in my purse and washing my hands constantly. Combine that with the cold weather and I now have hands that are pretty cracked and dry. stay warm and have a nice weekend
