I heart Saturdays

Even retired, I love, love, love Saturdays ... and of course, now that I'm back to work part time, I love Saturdays even more!  And I'm really loving this Saturday!

I woke up to sunny skies and am looking forward to the warmer temperatures in the forecast for this afternoon.

DH is at the monthly men's prayer breakfast at church, so I've got a few hours all to myself.  I'm definitely looking forward to his return, but it's always kind of nice to have a little bit of time where I have the house to myself ... not that I do anything different than what I'd do with him home.  I don't seem to be able to describe the feeling ... I hope you all can understand?

I'm getting a lazy start to the day ... and when I finish this post, I'll go get started on my day.  I've got a lot that I need/want to do:

*laundry ... there are just the two of us, and didn't I just get the laundry caught up a few days ago?  Where did all this laundry come from?  And that's not counting any clothes that I may need to wash to get ready for our trip (all our summer clothes have been tucked in the back of the closet since last summer ... the temperatures are in the upper 70's/lower 80's in Deerfield Beach, so we'll be packing the shorts, capris, sleeveless tops, etc.)

*housecleaning ... in addition to slacking on the housecleaning now that I'm working, I usually end up working on T#4's big girl quilt if I've got a day off where I don't have to do anything/be anywhere.  Piecing is my least favorite part of quilting, and this one seems to be going especially slowly so I am bound and determined to get this pieced together so I can start quilting ... since I hand quilt, that will take a nice chunk of time to get done ... and I'd like to have this to her before she goes off to college - ha!

*working on T#4's big girl quilt ... see above

*getting outside to enjoy this weather ... it's supposed to get up to 60 (or more, because our outdoor thermometer is reading 56 already!).  It's too early to do anything out in the yard, but I could just sit out on the deck and enjoy the lovely weather!

  4. totally understand your liking a little "me time" when hubby is at the men's breakfast at church; I know I like that "alone time" a lot myself. How fun to keep planning for your upcoming trip!! I know it will be a fun one!

  5. Yes, I completely understand enjoying that alone time. And we have something else in common. I love to quilt but piecing...not so much.

    Enjoy your beautiful weekend.

  6. Sounds like a busy Saturday. I know that my husband creates a lot of laundry and his work clothes are down outside the home! Hope it went well.

  7. Oh, I so understand your comment about the hubs being gone and how nice it is once in a while. I feel the exact same way. :o) I think most women understand that one.

I look forward to seeing pics of the quilt, I know it will be a real treasure.

    Blessings to you!
