A Quickie Update

I was able to get a good bit of quilting done in the last couple of days.  I’ve only got a couple more blocks to quilt before I can start on the borders.  It’s been a little while since I shared a photo of my progress, so without further ado:FullSizeRender

FullSizeRender (1)The bottom picture is a full shot (mostly) of the back … but the color is off … the middle photo gives a more accurate (but not perfect … it’s a darker blue/navy Moda Marbles).  The borders look all wavy on the picture of the front ... but only because I didn't take the time to smooth them out when I took the picture ... I guess I was too anxious to get back to quilting.  ha!  I’m quilting down the middle of each log.  Usually I use 1.5” (finished) logs, but in order to give this quilt a little more of a modern feel, I chose to make these logs 2” (finished).  I much prefer the 1.5” logs.  Winking smile

The nearby small city has a parade on Halloween … it’s quite a draw, so we were expecting some trick or treaters last night.  We got none, so I’m hoping that we’ll get some tonight … in spite of the parade and the cold temperatures.  At least I thought to purchase candy that I don’t really care for all that much.  Winking smile

I did get a photo of the Ts all decked out.IMG_0961

The cold front appears to be moving in … we’ve already reached the forecast high and temps are dropping, it’s overcast, and the wind has really picked up … just looking outside makes me cold.  Brrrrrr

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a great day!
Kathy

  1. I like to do log cabin blocks in the middle of each log too making a spiral affect on the back.

  4. Your T's are adorable! You were smart to buy candy that you don't especially like! I'm left with a lot of it that I DO like :(

Good going on your quilting projects! Enjoy the weekend, and STAY WARM!

  5. I am LOVING the way the quilt is coming out. Looks fantastic! And the T's all look soo good. My sister's oldest grand daughter is also Steve from Mindcraft. I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't seen her costume though, lol.

I want to thank you SOOO much for the thread. It came a few days ago and I have thought a few times I MUST thank Kathy for that and then it fly right out of my head again. Thinking of you quilting this morning it popped back in. Anyway, thank you sweet friend. I love the variegated and know I will put it to good use!

Hope you have a good week-end and enjoy your trick or treaters...I miss that. We don't get any here.

  11. You are making wonderful progress on the quilting.
Fun to see the Ts we hear so much about!
We are unseasonable warm today with highs supposed to reach the 70s. Tonight things change and we could even see a bit of snow on the mountains before the weekend is over.

  13. Hi there, Love the quilt, but I don't think I've ever seen one of yours that I didn't love. I finished cutting the fabric for my new quilt and maybe will get some stitching done tomorrow. Hubby will hand out candy tonight; I always get some we like, just in case we have it left over-hate to throw away anything food related.
Have a good evening and happy November.
    Hugs, Noreen

  14. Chilly temps are predicted here this weekend. Yea!

Love the quilt, so, so pretty, wish I could see it in person.

We are not giving out candy tonight, just didn't want to fool with it this year. Shame on us!

    Happy weekend!

  15. I loved seeing the T's all dressed up. You have made so much progress on the Log Cabin quilt! We never get Trick or Treaters at our house. I used to get ready for them but we are about 3 1/2 miles out of town and they do not come out this way.
