More Tuesday Trivialities

I was planning to post a Weekend Wrap-up, but enough time has passed that I’m not sure that I remember enough to put together a respectable WW.  Let’s just say that nothing turned out like I had planned, it was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous setting, and there was considerable time spent behind the wheel.  I’m still trying to recover.  Winking smile

I finally broke down and ordered a new laptop last Thursday.  Mine has been giving me fits for about a year now … and it’s really been unreliable the last couple of weeks.  Rather than risk it dying and taking all my data with it (I do back up my data, but you and I both know that it would die right several days after my last back up).  Since I keep our financial records (including tax returns) on my laptop, I didn’t want to take that risk … besides, it’s still possible to purchase a PC/laptop with Windows 7, which was enough to compel me to replace that laptop sooner rather than later.  It should be delivered some time today.

We used our GPS while away this past weekend as we were in a new (to us) area … I need to figure out how to change its settings as it directed DH a good third of the 450 miles before finally directing him to the interstate.  Surprised smile

Yesterday was a “play day” at DD’s … I think we both needed a little break from our normal routines.  That meant I didn’t get any time with my needle and thread … and with today being spent setting up my new laptop, I may not get much needle and thread time today.

We’ve got cold weather coming this weekend, with a possibility of a hard freeze … time to get out and pick the last of the green beans and tomatoes before breaking down the garden.  And maybe time to put the flannel sheets on the bed?

Conversation at Cracker Barrel when we stopped for dinner on our way home Sunday:

T#3: I don't believe in Rudolph. Reindeer can't fly.
Mama: Well, how does Santa get around?
T#3: He walks. (Complete with an exasperated look on his face)
T#4: Yes they do. (Pointing to the deer mounted over the hearth)

I hope that whatever you have planned for today includes a little something that brings you joy! Have a great day!
Kathy

  3. GPS can be a pain in the butt at times! On our last trip it started to direct us to the completely wrong place - Lucky I carry a map book in the motorhome too and had actually looked at it a short while before that happened - told hubby he was going in the wrong direction and we got straightened out.
I am also lucky that hubby takes care of setting up the computer but I have forgotten to back up in awhile so thanks for the reminder.

  5. Hi there, I'm just getting ready to head downstairs for cutting. I've done chores after I got home from bible study and visited some blogs, so think sewing sounds good.
You may think you have big quilting stitches, but let me tell you that looked mighty fine to me.
As for getting hot/cold as we age-when I was young I was so skinny-I could never gain weight. In fact, at 18 I think I weighed about 80 lbs maybe. Then after marriage and kids, I gained more than a little bit-so that kept me warmer. Now, I'm a bit on the fluffy side-need to lose about 5 lbs and then maybe I won't get as hot. I actually sleep in a tank top and panties every night, all year round. Lol. The changes our bodies go through.
    Have a great afternoon.
    Hugs, Noreen

  9. Oh, those darn GPS's. We got thoroughly lost once last summer, with trailer behind and running low on fuel, because of the GPS. Kinda gotta know where you're going and not completely trust those things! What a busy few days!

  10. I think we might have to put the spread away and pull the comforter out soon, our weekend is predicted to be cool as well. We have a church picnic planned for Sunday, so it should be interesting. Hope you like you knew computer
