Wednesday Hodgepodge

It’s Wednesday … and time once again for the Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1. What is something you are loving right now?
The snow that is falling.

2. Paris, Venice, New York, and Rome are considered four of the most romantic cities in the world. Which one would you most like to visit?
Paris.  It just says “romance” to me.  And since my maternal grandfather’s family emigrated from France to Switzerland and then to the US, I would love to see the land of my ancestors.

3. Are you a romantic?
I guess I have a bit of a romantic in me … I believe in “happily ever after.”

4. What's your favorite love story made for the Big Screen?
Casablanca.  It may not be your stereotypical love story … but to me the foundation of the story is the love between Rick and Ilsa and between Victor and Ilsa.

5. Everyone loves Pooh bear and friends...which character are you most like and why? Click here for help in answering this question.

And yes, I have been known to put even my Ts in time out if they’ve misbehaved.  Winking smile
6. What's the best chocolate something you've ever eaten?
Chocolate covered strawberries … and DH knows to bring a few home on Valentine’s Day.  Red heart

7. Share a favorite quote about love.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  ~ 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I normally follow blogs via Google Reader.  Yesterday morning, I logged into my dashboard and saw a whole bunch of posts from the last couple of days … posts that I hadn’t read.  I was at a loss as to why posts weren’t loading into GR.  Last night just before I went to bed, I checked GR … and there were 60 unread posts … 16 of which were published after I checked this morning.  Some of those posts go back to January 30!  Surprised smile  I’d say that I’ve got a little catching up to do.

  2. I certainly wouldn't worry about trying to catch up with that many uncharted 'til now, posts!! My goodness. LOL

You're the 2nd one I've read for W Hodgepodge that chose chocolate covered strawberries. And yes....I too liked Casablanca. That casting of the two [Bergman and Bogie] was so perfect. And the song...oh the song.

Walking in Sunshine is my Wednesday Link...for Hodgepodge answers, scroll down a bit.

  11. PS....to answer your question on how to add to your sideboard the baseball 'scoreboard'...just go back to my blog, click on the baseball link I have...then, copy the url in the address bar of your browser.

When that is copied, go to your blogger interface/your admin - or dashboard. Where you should see all your blogs listed. On the blog you want the scoreboard link to be added, click on the 'design' or layout or template link. With that open now, find "Page Elements"...click on that. When your page elements window opens, find on the sidebar list...find, "Add Gadget"...click on that...a tiny window should open...scroll down to HTML/Javascript...click the "+" sign...there you put in your hyperlink.

If you don't know what a hyperlink is...I'll help you...With your javascript window open, click anywhere in the 'content'...this is where you will add your sidebar Baseball Scoreboard link. This is what you'll type:

    <*a href="the link you just copied" target="_blank">BASEBALL SCOREBOARD<*/a>

It will open in a new window/tab from your sidebar. AND MAKE SURE YOU TAKE OUT THE ASTERISK IN MY CODING ABOVE. This is just to show you how and what to type...if you don't take out the asterisks [2 of them]...it won't work.

Once you've done the hyperlink...click save. And your new page element is there.

    2. Well...it really ISN'T just for Cardinals. It's the MLB scoreboard. When the season begins, the link will have the scores for ALL games played on a certain day.

As for the Cardinals winning the world series, that text I ADDED after the <*/a> part...the link itself. I added who won the series with separate text.

    3. RE: Cardinals scoreboard, I grabbed the scoreboard from the Cardinals website ... so my link will be to the Cardinals website's scoreboard (vs a scoreboard for all games played that day). Thus I tweaked the heading to read Cardinals Scoreboard. ;-) and I figured out how to add the text - it's all on one line instead of on two lines like yours, but it works well enough. ;-)

Thanks SO much for your help! <3 <3 <3

  13. I love Bogey, but I've never really cared for Casablanca. Not sure why.

We've got snow here today too, but I just looked out and it looks like it's all melted now. Oh well, it was pretty while it lasted and at least the roads didn't get nasty.

  14. Kathy....if you want anything doing your own text and coding as you did for the Cardinals' scoreboard...where you want your second line break...before the text, add a <*br/> [without the asterisk again.] If you want two line spaces, use two of the <*br/>s or as many as you want.

  16. My favorite too:
