It’s Friday, and once again I’m following along at Half-Past Kissin’ Time’s Friday Fragments, where as Mrs. 4444 says “disconnected thoughts are applauded”. Since my life is chock full of disconnected thoughts, this meme is right up my alley!
My legs are reminding me of my age this morning. They’re definitely not used to playing kickball. I was at DD’s yesterday, where they participated in an impromptu neighborhood kickball game. Of course, Nana joined in the fun (even though she went 0 for 3).
For once, our smoke detectors have decided to warn us that the batteries need to be replaced when we’re up - instead of in the middle of the night. It’s still annoying when we get that annoying beep and the message “Warning – Low Battery”. But if we’re going to get it, far better to start getting it at 6:30 AM instead of 2:30 AM.
I must have the slowest-growing toenails. I had a pedicure done on March 22, and unless you look really, really close, you cannot tell that it’s been 5 weeks. The polish is still looking good, so I think I’ll leave it on for our upcoming trip. Gotta have painted toenails when on the beach, right?
Our few days of lovely weather have passed. The next several days will be cooler and rainy … sounds like perfect quilting weather, doesn’t it?
Hope you enjoy the beach! I painted my toes on April 2nd and they look really ratty now... I have to do something about it, but haven't had the time...
ReplyDeleteWe recently replaced batteries so were surprised to hear chirping in the wee hours of the morning one day. It took forever to figure out it was the basement detector. I don't think I even knew one was down there! Have a great weekend-I used to love to play kickball!
ReplyDeleteThat is PERFECT quilting weather!
ReplyDeleteI really do not like that chirping bird noise from the smoke alarm messages.
ReplyDeleteA little kick ball definitely reminds us of our age! LOL
Have fun at the beach.
Beach or no beach...painted toenails is a must for me too. I wear a lot of open shoes / sandals year 'round here, so the color is something that's part of the style I wear.
ReplyDeleteThose nasty smoke alarms are annoying to be sure...but a god send if ever needed.
Those smoke detectors can drive a person right over the edge when they make that chirping noise. Makes you want to rip it right out of the ceiling! :) Happy quilting, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteHope you gets lots done - this is great quilting weather! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI paint my toes all summer and all my "renewable resources" grow fast. I wear all kinds of flip flops and sandals in the summer or just go barefoot so I feel better with the polish on. For the last few years, I also wear a toe ring or two. I believe in feet bling.
ReplyDeleteI only get pedi's in the summer and haven't started them yet this season. But you are right - - - I believe toe nails are slow growers, at least that has been my experience too.
ReplyDeleteI go about every 5 weeks because mine last pretty long also.
ReplyDeleteThanks a good thing! We are always reminded of our low batteries when our power goes out. Then I forget which ones needed that batteries replaced when the power comes back on.
perfect quilting weather - i'd rather be home quilting but i'm stuck at work for a little bit yet today. this evening i plan to start a new project to put on the frame when my machine comes!
ReplyDeleteyou missed a really good show in greenville! it was really neat - the actors were talented, the singing was great, the quilts were beautiful... wish you could have come! hope you had a nice time with your sis. :)
My toe nails grow slow too, but I'm real hard on polish! In face they look bad right now and I really need a pedicure! I hope I get one before Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGood for you playing kickball! Haven't done that for years!
Well, yes, I agree, why get a pedicure when your toes still look good. My pedicures always last a long time. Yes, the beach means one must have pretty toes!
ReplyDeleteSounds like quilting weather for sure. I've been so busy since getting home that I haven't even gotten our trip photos edited. I'm thinking I may play around with them tomorrow.
Blessings to you!
You go girl for getting out there with kick ball!! How fun!!
ReplyDeleteSmoke detectors low battery warnings are about the same as getting a phone call in the middle of the night, unsettling and unnerving!
have a great weekend!

Best part of being a grandparent is getting to be a kid again - even if it comes with a price.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, color of the toenail polish will determine if it is beach worthy. ;-)
