After a well-deserved break last week, the Wednesday Hodgepodge is back this week.
1. Have you ever played golf? Any interest in playing? Do you have a significant other who loves to play? Did you watch The Masters this past weekend?
I’ve played golf … my mom and dad both loved playing golf … even at 89, my dad still plays regularly. I just have no interest in playing … I’m not much into participatory sports. DH does enjoy golfing, but he doesn’t play much … in fact, I don’t think he’s played a round since he’s retired. I didn’t watch The Master this past weekend … some of the adults were watching at DD’s Sunday afternoon, but I was outside with the Ts … a whole lot more fun, in my book!
2. Hats are back in fashion this spring...how do you feel about wearing a hat? (fyi-I'm not talking baseball caps) When was the last time you wore one?
I don’t recall ever wearing a hat … I don’t even recall ever having an Easter bonnet. I can’t say that I’m too keen on wearing a hat … can you say “hat hair”? Ha!
3. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 meaning proficient and 1 meaning "I'd starve", how adept are you at using chopsticks?
I’ve never really worked at using chopsticks … I’ve played around a time or two when dining at a Chinese restaurant, but never to the point where I could get anywhere much past a 1, if that.
4. Has technology taken over?
Yes. My 89-year-old dad is proficient at using his iPhone (at least the email and phone functions) … that is all the proof that I need. Ha!
5. In the course of a day how often do you look in a mirror?
It depends. Once I get ready in the morning, I really only need to check if I’m going to go somewhere or if I’ve been outside and need to repair the wind damage to my hair. I do glance briefly when I wash my hands, but seriously, at my age, the mirror is not my friend. Ha!
6. Tulip or Daffodil?
Tulip. And I definitely want to get some bulbs planted this fall!
7. I am proud of myself for __________________.
For giving up Diet Coke. It’s been over a month, and I don’t miss it.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
We had a freeze warning for last night, so I faithfully went out and froze while covering my azaleas and hydrangea. Of course, it only got down to 34, so I wouldn’t have had to cover anything. Oh well, better safe than sorry, right?
I think a lot os us are going to have the same answer about a mirror. I like what I see in my mind, not in the mirror. Gave up Diet Coke!! Great.
ReplyDeleteMorning Kathy!
ReplyDeleteYour dad still golfs and can use an iPhone? I am beyond impressed! Yay for giving up Diet Coke! I don't think carbonated drinks are good for you, anyway. That's something I never drink...only water for me!
What's up with this crazy weather? It's supposed to be 41 here tonight!
ReplyDeleteKudos to your dad for tackling technology!
We would have had a lot of similiar answers had I done one of these this week, haha. I still might if I get the chance. Glad your flowers are OK, your right, better safe than sorry! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteYep I'm the same on the chopsticks. Also love tulips. Who knows, maybe I'll plant some this fall.
ReplyDeleteI love that your Dad still plays golf. I have no interest. Seems like a boring game to me. I hope you are having a good week!
ReplyDeleteI love that your dad still plays too. I hope I have that kind of energy when I'm 89 : ) I'm glad your plants survived. My husband keeps saying we need to put some things out but I've lived here before and long enough this time around to know it's not safe before Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteWTG to your dad for conquering an iPhone!! I'm with you, I would rather be around young ones than watching golf on TV :)
ReplyDeletehave a great day!
betty
Good Morning Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI loved all of your answers. I had to laugh about chopsticks.
I would starve I think If I had to use them. I have never got it down and watching my kids they are as good with them as with a fork.
I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! It is a nice rainy day. I hope I can sew some today.
OHHH - I shoulda said the same thing. I NEVER thought I'd give up Diet Coke & I'm on week 3 today!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your dad! Playing golf AND an iPhone? He's offiically cool :)
I need to give up Diet Coke, I have cut back considerably. I love it that your Dad has mastered the IPhone. That is so cool. I love to see older people using IPhones, or computers, I love it that they do not let it intimidate them.
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
My dad can't play golf anymore and that bothers him. He never did get into the cell phone thing. It was a little too much for him. I'm impressed with your dad! Way to go on the diet-coke. I wish my husband would stop drinking it. I stopped drinking soft drinks about 15 years ago. Don't miss them at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that your dad isn't intimidated by the technology! My dad is 85 and has no clue how to even use a plain cell phone! He will get on the computer every now and then, but nothing like we do!
