I’ve had a number of dogs over the years, but I’ve never had a better one that this sweet girl. I’m missing her so much already.  Every where I turn, I expect to see her right here by my side.  She was definitely a mama’s girl … she just couldn’t control herself whenever she saw her first mama (DD) and she wouldn’t rest easy until she knew that her second mama (me) was here.  I know … she was just a dog, and yet my heart will never be quite the same now that she’s gone.

I'm sure she brought you and your family many memories over the years that you will be able to share about here in the days ahead, but I know you will always miss her. again, I am so sorry.

  5. No such thing as "just a dog." So sorry you have lost this valued friend. Having outlived several dogs, I know just how you feel. I'll be thinking of you.

  7. My sweet friend, My heart is so sad for you right now and I'm grieving for you. Those who touch our heart so deeply never leave us-they stay close in all our memories. I know it is so hard right now and I'll be lifting you up.
My time isn't far ahead I fear but for the time we are simply embracing each day.
Sending lots of love, Noreen & Reggie

  8. no such thing as 'just a dog'. we have lost two dogs and two cats over the past couple years and all incidents were heart wrenching. the first dog was my nakia who was my 'baby'. i still have her picture on my phone when i open it up to text. oh, i'm reading previous comments now and see someone else started out their comment the same way! they really do become part of the family. now that my kids are grown, the dog is quite often the only company i have in the evenings (hubby works afternoon shift). read the rainbow bridge poem (google it) but have a box of tissues next to you when you do. your sweet pup will be there waiting for you.

  10. I am so sorry. Don't say she was just a dog, they are one of the most lovely creatures created by God. At my house they are family.

  11. Oh Kathy. I cannot put into words how sorry I am. I'm one of those people that would choose spending the day with a pet over a day with people - my dogs are a part of my heart and each one I've lost over the years has left a little scar on my heart. They ask for so little and they give back so much. Wish I was there to sit with you and hold your hand.

  13. Oh, we're going to face this same situation in the near future I'm afraid. Ours our outdoor dogs but we still love them too death and they are always so happy to see us when we pull up. Maybe you'll find the perfect replacement soon. Blessings!

Have a great time in Hilton Head. I love it there, too! We're havin' a great time in Fla. It just goes by too fast!
