This n That Thursday
Yikes, it’s “only” Thursday … I had typed in a title suitable for a Friday, only to suddenly remember that it’s Thursday. Last week I was a day ahead … this week I’m a day behind. Crazy. What’s even crazier is that there are only 4 more days left in June!
We had three Ts yesterday … Mama has decided that she’d like to make Wednesdays one-on-one days this summer, and T#1 got to spend the inaugural one-on-one day with Mama. I know that they had a great time, but I’d be hard pressed to imagine that it would have been more fun than we had here. The Ts have been back into Legos lately, including T#4 (time to buy another box of “girly” Legos). Today’s building resulted in a little Lego playground (see the slide over to the left? … there’s also a seesaw, a sandbox, monkey bars and more).I love that they play with Legos … a perfect combination of fun and creativity.
Before they came over, I managed a walkabout through the yard. Our summer flowering plants are starting to bloom. Look! My hydrangea is starting to bloom … although so far, there’s just the single bloom. But at least there’s a bloom … we had none at all last summer.
And I found this on Facebook:I don’t know about you all, but it’s oh so true for me! We’re about 2 1/2 months from getting some Vitamin Sea … we cannot wait. And we discovered that the people renting the condo after us won’t be checking in until Sunday … which means there’s an open day available … I think we need to add an extra day to our stay! I guess I shouldn’t complain about time flying by … I’m really anxious for September to get here so we can go get some Vitamin Sea! Of course, that’ll be when I’m hoping that time will sloooooow down!
There’s nothing on today’s agenda until tonight’s swim meet … that means I should have time to spend in the sewing room. We’ll see how many rows I can get pieced together … hopefully I’ll have enough done to get a good feel on how this quilt is going to come together. Of course, I’ll share my progress with you all.
At some point in the next few days I’m going to need to cut strips of that “lost” fabric so I can be finished kitting up projects for my retreat … it’s just over 2 weeks away. Speaking of retreat, my new small folding ironing table arrived yesterday … not only will it be awesome for retreats (my guild is going to hold one in September) but it will be perfect for my small sewing space here at home as well!Previously I’ve had to go to the laundry room and drag out the ironing board … our laundry room is small (we downsized when we moved here), so getting the ironing board was a bit of a hassle. Then I’d have to put the ironing board away when I was done as there really wasn’t enough room for it in the sewing room. My new little table will fold up easily and fit in the closet right there in my sewing room. Icing on the cake: the medium blue ticking that was used to make the top!
Have a spectacular day!

did you make that ironing board or order it somewhere?
ReplyDeleteKathy, I'm in need of Vitamin Sea, too. We have a fun trip planned...leaving on July 8th. I'll blog about it later. Looking forward to the beach, snorkeling, hiking and just lots of R & R!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get some Vitamin Sea too. Mine will come in November (Lord willing)!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat little fold up table. That will be handy for lots of things!!
ReplyDeleteI love playing with legos - forget the kids :)
All my grandkids love Legos! I sure like that littl ironing table. Hope the swim meet goes well and is not rained out! No Vitamin Sea in my future. :(
ReplyDeleteLove the ironing board. I need to book a hotel at the beach... so I can make sure I get some time there. Momma needs some ocean sounds. Have fun at the swim meet.
ReplyDeleteLove the Vitamin Sea pix! Don't you just love kids playing with legos and using their imaginations?! I think it is one great toy. Hope you got in some good sewing time today. ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteVitamin Sea....very cute!!
ReplyDeleteI like that new pressing area idea.
Oh I love vitamin sea too! haha. We drive by and all along the coast on our way back and forth to San Diego on Sundays Soo beautiful. I would love love love that table. Would be soo nice. I have a little one that sits on my sewing cabinet right next to me while I am sewing, but for finishing and bigger things I have to drag out the board too from a tiny little utility room so I know the feeling. Spent the last two days sewing, and got lots done including my own quilting on the runner I just made. It was fun. I need to branch out of my comfort zone with it though and do some that is not from my machine's many, many decorative stitches. I am kind of scared though, lol. Hope your day went well!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find that fold-up ironing board? Nifty!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great little ironing table. I think it would be appreciated by many if you posted the source on your blog. : )
ReplyDeleteWow..you've been busy!! Hope you are adjusting to your glasses well. Congrats to the swim star...how cool is that?! I know it's not the same, but I use my bed/table top ironing much more than our big one! SO much more convenient!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing those legos. I just love watching them play with them and how they think.
ReplyDeleteHow fun for you.
That is such a nice ironing board.I am so excited that your hydrangea bloomed!! Your flowers are so pretty.
Have a lovely weekend.
Both of my Grans love Legos and are quite good with them. In fact, better than me. :o))
ReplyDeleteYou just got back from the "sea" and already looking forward to going back. That's great!
Happy weekend!
I only have two flowers on both of my hydrangea combined this year...disappointing because they were full last summer but we got hit with a late freeze this year after the buds had set that killed most of all the flowers.
ReplyDeleteMy grands love legos too, I have a rubbermaid container full of them that I kept from when my sons were little...they last a lifetime. Hope your weekend is good.
My grands all love Legos! My problem is knowing which ones they have and don't have at gift time :) DH and I have not been to the beach in years - I told him we have to fix that and soon!!!
ReplyDeleteWould you mind sharing what you paid for your ironing table? I'm making some of those and plan to sell them at our Guild fundraiser but don't know how much to ask. I got the tables at Goodwill and will make cute little covers :)
A lego playground...cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI always tell my oldest he ended up in engineering due to his early love of legos :)
