You asked for it …

I posted on Thursday that I was thankful for all the flowers blooming (or getting ready to bloom) in the yard.  Some of you asked to see my flowers … and since I aim to please (and since it’s too hot to be doing anything blogworthy right now), here are some of the flowers blooming in my yard.

Here are my knockout roses.  The small plant in front of that first rose is a balloon flower which technically should be blooming or getting very close to blooming, but mine always seem to run a little behind schedule.


Here are my hostas.  I have hostas planted along the east side of our house … I have 5 different varieties, but I have to admit that this variety is my favorite.  I also have an everblooming azalea, butterfly bush and hydrangea planted on that side of the house.


Here’s my hydrangea.  It’s an everbloomer, so I’ll have blooms all summer.


After I was done snapping photos of my flowers, I walked back to the front of the house and saw this across the way.

I’ve never seen anything like this … we’ve had Canada geese and ducks in the lot across the street (there’s a shallow spot that fills with water in the spring) and hawks on the neighbor’s fence, but never anything like this.
