Thankful Thursday

I’m getting to this a little later than normal, but it’s never too late to be thankful, is it?

I’m thankful for:

  • Time with T#1 and T#2 today.  They spent the night last night … that meant a later-than-normal bedtime and unfortunately an earlier-than-normal get-up this morning.  They’re having lie-downs (I’m hoping for a nap, but settling for some rest).

  • Some much-needed rain.  The snow that hit the Rockies has made its way east.  Unfortunately we’re going to get rain only – no snow.

  • Good health.  I got good results from the tests after my annual check-up.  I have been diagnosed with osteopenia, but thankfully all I have to do is increase my calcium and vitamin D.  That means that tomorrow I’ll go have a talk with my pharmacist about how to coordinate these dosages with the medicine I take for my Raynaud’s.

  • DH who never complains when I ask him to make a special trip to the grocery store … even when I failed to plan accordingly.  I promised DD that we’d make a meal for them for tonight … I had the menu set a couple of days ago, but I neglected to add the ingredients to the grocery list until this morning.  At least he was already out and about (he had a dental appointment and stopped at the store on his way home … and it was $10 off any purchases > $50, so we saved $10 by having him shop today … yes, Queen of Rationalization, that would be me!).

  • Online shopping.  I placed a few online orders today … yes, I could have purchased these items at a retail store, but that would have meant a 30-minute drive (one-way) to several different stores.  With the cost of gas (and the limited amount of free time this week), I was glad to be able to find what I needed quickly and easily online.

  1. Hi Kathy, Loved hearing about how your T's get to spend the night but yes I think a nap might be in order. So our snow turned into rain for you huh? I too have osteopena and take cal-mag and d3, make sure your magnesium with the calcium is 50% of the mg of calcium. Hope you found some that works with your med's.
Have a blessed afternoon. Hugs, Noreen

  2. Sometimes it's cheaper to order on line - no lines, no use of gas and a lot of times free shipping.

  3. I do a lot of on line shopping as well. Don't want to travel all over to hit the stores! So glad for the good medical report and all you have to do is increase your vit. D and calcium. You have a lot to be thankful for indeed.

  4. Just found your blog. I too am thankful for internet shopping. It cuts down on impulse buying, saves gas, and saves me from having to deal with some many rude people. I will visit often. Come see me, too.

  5. Loved your list as always. I have mixed feelings about on-line shopping which I have done a lot of. It is REALLY good when you know right what you want...but when you don't I don't like trying to see little pictures of things, and I like to feel fabrics of clothes, etc. Colors often vary big time too. But sometimes, it just can't be beat for convenience. Hope you had a good day!

  7. Glad you got a good checkup!! I think also walking or some other type of weight bearing exercise is supposed to help with osteopenia/osteoporosis. And yep for sure the calcium/vitamin D!

I loved online shopping when I was shopping, LOL. So convenient and you can do it any time of the day/night!

  8. So glad to hear that you got good reports from your checkup!
I'm thankful for on-line shopping, too, especially since we live at least 30 minutes away from good shopping.
    Have a great weekend.

  9. I enjoyed your things you are thankful for, thanks for coming by for a visit. Well, I guess you could call what I do quilting.:) I have made lots for my kids and my grand-kids. I am going to get some material for my newest grand daughter a quilt. I like it but I am so slow. I am faster at rug hooking and counted cross stitch so maybe that is why I got away from doing it. Do you get that magazine called Primitive Quilts? I want to make a log cabin for my bed out of that. I would also like to do Caledula Patterdrip Cottage from Crabapple Hill.
I have lots of ideas but finding the time.
    Thanks for asking though.
