Another Thursday, and another opportunity to express my thankfulness.
I’m thankful for:
- Our dog coming through her surgery ok. After a rough night (between the anesthetic and the stress of the day, she didn’t have the greatest evening), she’s back to normal this morning. She goes back in 10 days to get the stitches removed … in the meantime, we’ll be waiting for the biopsy results.
- My home sweet home. I enjoyed my visit to see my dad … and to get in a little beach time. But there really is no place like home.
- Lazy mornings. I used to be quite the night owl, although now I’m wondering how much of it was by necessity … when working full time, the only way I was going to be able to get everything done and to have any time to relax and do the things I enjoy doing would be to stay up late. Now that I’m retired, I find myself getting up at about the same time I did when I was working … but I’m not sure that I’m ready to proclaim that I’m a morning person … I’m definitely not ready to get going on my day for a couple of hours. I find myself relishing those lazy starts to my day.
- A new small group. I’m excited about the prospect of being able to fellowship and study, of being able to develop close relationships. I can’t wait for Monday!
Great list. I have ALWAYS been a morning person. I often wished when I was raising my family that I COULD have stayed up late so that I could have had more time to do the things I wanted to do, but alas my eyes would start closing around 9:30, haha. I am in dreamland most nights by 10:00...and sleeping in for me is 6:00, haha...I get a GREAT deal of my day accomplished by 8:30. Glad your dog is doing OK...OH! and your right, no place like home! Have a good day! HUGS

So thankful your pup is okay. sandie
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that your dog is doing so well. I am up early every morning. Sometimes I think it would be fun to sleep in late but I can't do it! Small groups are the best.
ReplyDeleteI miss the bible studies I use to go to. Hope you have a nice weekend.
I find even when I don't have to be up for any particular reason my internal clock goes off at 5:30. Frustrating! But I am thankful for the quiet time to converse with my Lord. I am also thankful I found your blog.
