We Now Resume Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

We’re back home … there truly is no place like home.  And while there’s a little piece of my heart back on the beach in Hilton Head, there’s a whole big piece of my heart that’s here in Illinois where my favorite people are.  Red heart

We’ve been pretty busy here at Chez Nana since we returned Tuesday evening.  I’ve been as busy as a bee unpacking and doing laundry.  I had to take a break from that to help my dad.  He’s been under the care of an ophthalmologist since he was diagnosed with glaucoma back in 2010.  His ophthalmologist’s office is not far from our house, so when he has an appointment, he comes here to wait for his eyes to finish “undilating” before he heads back home.  While he was at his doctor’s office, I was busy trying to straighten out some of his medical bills (he was convinced that he owed his ophthalmologist $385, when he only owed $27 … he was adding up duplicate statements and insurance payment notifications).

I’m going to get back to my normal routine today … and I’m hoping that will include some time in the sewing room.  We sent our end tables off to be refinished (they were showing every bit of their 24 years), so without an end table to hold all my stuff (scissors, thread, marking pencils, quilting stencil, etc.), I’m not going to be able to hand quilt.  But I do hope to be able to work on piecing together some more log cabin blocks.2012_0417LogCabinQuilt0004

  2. If you get to quilt, it is a great day! So it doesn't matter if it is at the machine or hand quilting - Enjoy! ~Jeanne

  3. Though vacations are wonderful and very much needed, I still say "there's no place like home". Of course, having to get caught up on the laundry is the pits! Have a terrific Mother's Day, Kathy!

  8. Laundry; it never ends does it? But at least you have the nice memories of your time away while you are catching up on it! Welcome home! It is always good to be back on familiar, loved soil :)
