Thankful Thursday

Another week has flown by, and it’s time to stop and take some time to be intentionally thankful.

This week, I want to be especially thankful for:

  • Good results from our Abby’s surgery … while the tumor was cancerous, they were able to remove it all and get good margins.

  • Time spent with my Ts … whether it’s a couple of hours like last night or most all of the day like today, these times make my heart sing.

  • Peaceful, quiet mornings … since I’ve retired, I find myself getting up at about the same time that I did when I was working … I love those first hours of the day, when everything is quiet and peaceful.

Feel thanks and it’s absolutely impossible to feel angry.  We can only experience one emotion at a time.  And we get to choose – which emotion do we want to feel?
I pray that I will remember that I get to choose which emotion I feel … and that I will choose thankfulness.

  1. I love the quiet mornings, also. I have time to think, dream, and meditate before all the cares of the day take over.

  5. I like the mornings too but I do confess, I am not up at 6am like I used to be. Now it's more like 8am. After working all those years, I treasure not having to do it now. I'm on my 3rd year of workless freedom and love it.
