By now, I suspect that most of you know, I’ve become quite a fan of NCIS in the last couple of months. I’ve been watching re-runs on the USA Network, but I can tell that there’s a good bit of history/background info that I’m missing by watching random episodes. My sweetie knew how much I wanted to get caught up on past episodes and stopped at the library yesterday to see if they had NCIS DVDs for rent … and brought home Season 1 … in its entirety which I can have for 3 weeks (not that it will take me that long … I’m already well into disc 2).
We’re going to have a bit of a “respite” from the heat wave today and tomorrow. But we’ll be heading back to triple digits by Sunday.
No rain in sight either. I heard on the news last night that some are predicting that this drought will continue through to Halloween.
We’re seriously thinking of “upgrading” to a king-sized bed. DH suffers from Restless Leg Syndrome, and a king-sized bed would allow me to keep from hurting him get a good night’s sleep. We’ll move our queen-sized bed to the spare bedroom, replacing the full-sized bed in there (that needs a new mattress anyway). And that means that I’ll get to re-do both rooms. I’ll keep the existing wall colors (which I like), but I will get new bedding and possibly new curtains. I had grown tired of the bedding in both rooms but couldn’t justify redoing just yet … but now I can!
We don’t have a lot on the schedule for the weekend – yet. But one thing we will be doing will be to get ready to have our hardwoods refinished Monday morning. We have hardwoods everywhere except for the bedrooms and baths, so we have to get all the furniture off the hardwoods and everything out of the coat closet and pantry. Thankfully the people doing the refinishing are having someone come in to move the appliances.
Happy weekend, all!
To Halloween??!?!?!? oh my goodness! No pretty fall this year :(
ReplyDeleteWe need to redo floors too but just the thought of moving all that furniture makes me want to put it off a little longer.
ReplyDeleteIt is 64 degrees here this morning-crazy after the heat but I'll take it. And finally raining too. I am praying you all get some rain and relief!
I love my King Size bed. You should get one. Its really the best. Kevin has sleep apnea so its really hard to sleep with him and his machine. This has helped a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have a lot of fun changes being made at your house. I wouldn't trade a king size bed for anything. I need a new one (because this one is worn out), but I love our king size.
ReplyDeleteWe love NCIS too, but in watching the reruns, we keep running into episodes that we have missed. Hope you enjoy catching up.
Have a great week-end.
Wow you are going to be so busy. It will look nice when it is all finished though. Wow getting to redo both bedrooms. Gosh, I have always had a king size bed since we got married. The only thing I don't like about it is buying sheets for it as they do cost so much. But I guess everything is so expensive.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a nice weekend. I am so glad you are getting to watch the whole first season. It is so nice, but I can't sew and watch T.V. I was thinking of getting some books on tape.
Don't work too hard in that heat. Your heat has been worse than ours this year. It makes me feel so bad.
I have never watched NCIS but everyone seems to love it. Maybe I should start watching it! We have been hanging around 98 to 103 each day. We don't have your humidity but it's still hot!!! The king size bed sounds like a great idea.
ReplyDeleteDoes he take anything for his restless leg syndrome? It is going to be so awesome to have the floors refinished :)
How exciting to be getting a new bed and two new bedroom face lifts too. How fun. And work ahead for the floors, but you'll be soo glad when it is done. The heat sounds soo horrid! Try and stay cool....Have a good week-end! HUGS
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of this heat. Last night I went outside at 9pm and was able to breath, for about the first time in weeks. I am not looking forward to it going back into triple digits again on Sunday. The corn around here is about done for and the beans are heading that way. It will cloud up and tease us like it might rain, then it just passes right on by.
ReplyDeleteHope you are staying cool. Enjoy your NCIS marathon! I'm thinking of doing that with one of the shows I like.
We are gearing up to have some work done on our house soon, also. Not looking forward to the process, but will be glad when it's done.
I'm glad you got season 1 of NCIS-enjoy catching up. It sounds wonderful that you are getting a new bed and get to redo bedding. You will feel like you are in a brand new house when everything is done.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Wow! I wish I could send some of our rain your way! It's as if it just won't go away here!!!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend getting a king sized bed! I fought that battle for years with my husband saying we just didn't need one, and since we've had one he loves it!
We're thinking of downsizing to a queen from our king. The only issue I have is that I don't like for anyone to be close to me when I sleep and the king size is perfect for that. We'll have to see... I enjoy NCIS too-I've been watching it since it's beginning but have missed this last season. That Mark Harmon is quite a looker! LOL Geez, and I thought we were hot! Wowza! Find you a nice spot in front of an AC vent!
ReplyDeleteWise idea to get a king size bed! We have a queen and it gets a bit crowded with the three of us (Koda takes the most room :) Glad you get a bit of a respite before the hot weather again! Scary to think the drought will last that long or longer!
ReplyDeletebetty
I love the king sized bed...it is well worth it.
ReplyDelete....you know me, I LOVE NCIS [when you get to the episode "South by Southwest ---or something like that] with Tony and his horseback riding, I laugh each and every time we watch that one. It's so comical...of course I LOVE Tony. He's the comedy relief in it all I think. Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I envy you, I'd love to redo some bedrooms. The wall color especially. I'll do it in a year or two when the time will justify the change.

You know I'm right there with you on the whole NCIS thing!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but I'm pretty tired of the oppressive heat. I love fall! :)
Wow! That is a hot week ahead! Guess I shouldn't complain about our 90 tomorrow, but I'll be at an all-day, outdoor family reunion!
ReplyDeleteI love our king-sized bed, though we are cuddlers and only use 2/3rds of it :) Have fun decorating!
Thanks for linking up. Hope you're having a great weekend.
