Why is it that the only time my house gets anything close to a thorough cleaning is when we’re expecting guests? Ha! I hosted a candle party last night … prepared way too much food … sent half of it with others and will find some way to get rid give away the rest … we do NOT need 4+ dozen chocolate chip cookies here (at least not without pecans) and 1 1/2 loaves of pumpkin nut bread!
Yesterday the high was 85+ … today the high will barely hit 50. At least the colder weather is bringing some rain with it. We planted grass seed a week ago, and our little seedlings need some rain.
Baseball post-season begins today … and my team plays at 4:07 (what’s with these odd starting times? why not 4:05 or 4:10?). I may need a nap in order to stay awake during the game … I didn’t fall asleep until after 1:00 and was awake before 5:00 (I tried to go back to sleep but failed).
Other than about an hour Wednesday afternoon, I haven’t had any needle & thread time in over a week. I’ve got errands to run this morning, but I definitely plan to spend some time quilting this afternoon.
Should be a fairly quiet weekend coming up. We do have our annual neighborhood block party tomorrow afternoon (it’ll be slightly warmer tomorrow, but that’ll still mean several layers of outerwear for me – ha!). We’ll have the 2 littlest Ts tomorrow, so they’ll be going with Nana and Papa. Sunday, DSIL leaves for a week of training in Ohio, and DD & the Ts will be going with … which means we’ll be keeping our grandpuppy.
Good morning! I ALWAYS make too much food, haha. Guess I just can't bear being caught short! We are cooling WAY down today...high should only be 75! I am giddy! Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteWish I was in your area. I'd help out with the cookies. haha
ReplyDeleteHope you get some quilting time today. I'm itching to start another crochet project. I just have to figure out what I want to make.
Which baseball team are you rooting for?
Have fun with the T's and the grandpuppy.
Longtime Braves fan here so guess we are on opposite sides.
ReplyDeleteOur house only get cleaned when visitors are coming too.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I don't like this change in weather. We got a tiny bit of rain yesterday and that's it! The temp keeps going down and the wind keeps blowing. Feels way too much like winter! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI clean when guests are coming too and I always cook enough for an army.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should invite some guests over just to have the motivation to get the house really clean!
ReplyDeleteI always make too much for those kind of parties but I am sure everyone had a great time! Have fun at your block party and enjoy your baseball :)
ReplyDeleteI think the games start at the weird time becaue of them doing the pregame activities, National Anthem, announcements of players, etc. How fun to get to babysit the grandpuppy for a week :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Cleaning when expecting guests is normal unless you have a housekeeper, which I do not. But would love! It appears our Braves lost, choked again, baseball is done here for another year...Happy Happy!
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm going to have guests, I start looking at things through their eyes and panic! Then the cleaning starts! Otherwise, I just shrug! And I always cook way too much food!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
Happy Saturday my friend, A granpup for a week-you'll be in heaven, I think. It is so cold here today and we had snow this morning, which I was out in-brrr.
ReplyDeleteI'm staying in the rest of the day, under quilts.
Have a great weekend; I want to see a pic of your grandpup, as well as your new furniture.
Hugs,Noreen
That's quite a fluctuation in the weather you've got there. And you can certainly feel free to send those cookies and pumpkin bread right down here! :)
ReplyDeleteChocolate Chip Cookies are my favorite! Sounds like you've had a fun busy time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're been busy!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate on the house cleaning thing. Oh well...as my husband says, "We live here. Why try to make it look otherwise?" :)
Thanks for linking up. Have a great week.
