Tuesday Trivia
We had a wonderful time at the ball game yesterday. Even though our seats were at the top of the ballpark (we were in the 3rd row down from the very top … truly the nosebleed section!), we were right behind home plate with amazingly good views of the entire park. More importantly, we were IN the ballpark, experiencing the thrill firsthand. And thrill it was … after a rough start to the game, my Cardinals trounced the Nationals 12-4 to even the series. Even with all my layers, it was still cold … but it was worth it.
St. Louis takes its baseball seriously … and when the Cardinals make the playoffs, there’s no mistaking that the city is behind its team. Here’s the mural on the Ralston Purina Building (forgive the less-than-stellar quality … I took this with my phone, zoomed in as close as possible … you can click on the picture to get a better view of the mural ... look carefully - it says "Play ball!").
This morning I’ll be heading over to St. Louis for my sewing machine training. I chose to go to St. Louis to buy my machine … the staff at the St. Louis shop was much friendlier, their fabric inventory was much larger, and they have a service person on staff. It means an hours’ drive to the shop, but it was worth it.
This evening we’ll be taking a river cruise with the Prime Timers from church. It isn’t going to be a whole lot warmer today than it was yesterday, so I’ll have to bundle up again. (And yes, I have my DVR set to record NCIS tonight. )

Enjoying "the atmosphere" is well worth sitting anywhere in the ballpark :) Glad you enjoyed yourself!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about this evening's river cruise...
Have fun on the river cruise tonight! Its always colder on water too!!!
ReplyDelete& have fun getting that sewing machine! I know you'll put it to good use!
Kathy, There isn't anything as good as seeing a ballgame in person-even if you are in the nosebleed section. Hope you have a wonderful day at your training class(I never did that but should have). Before you know it, you'll be stitchin up a storm.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
I know how you feel...NOTHING like actually being there. Sometimes I actually prefer the nosebleed section, haha. Enjoy your lesson today, and your cruise tonight. : )
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm not really a sports fan because if I'm cold, I'm not enjoying my self. So Good For You! I hope the teams appreciate the fans for coming out when it's cold out. Have fun with the sewing machine class.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge StL Cardinal fan. You were so lucky to have been at the game yesterday as it was a great one!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and take some pictures. I hope your machine class is fun.
ReplyDeleteI think being at the game is great no matter where you have to sit. Hope you enjoy your cruise and the weather is good
ReplyDeleteGlad that you enjoyed the game and that your Cards won! If my Braves couldn't win it, I'd rather the Cards than the Nats advance. Cruise sounds like fun. I hope you will have pictures to share!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a sports fan, but there is something about being in the stadium with all the excitement.......of course, the only times I've been in the stadium.....1. It was blazing hot and I do mean blazing! or second chance.....raining, thunder and lightning. Not my idea of fun so I'm done.
ReplyDeleteNow I would like the river cruise! :)
The baseball game sounds like fun! We went to a couple of Braves' games...my first one was when they were in last place; there were plenty of seats!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about the river cruise!
Oh, what fun! I'm not much of a baseball fan except if I can attend the game live and in person. I do know the game, unlike football, and like the fact that it's much easier to keep up with than football (at least to me).
ReplyDeleteHubbby is watching NCIS right now. He loves it!
Happy week!
Cool that you went to the game and the team won! Watching NCIS (sort of, since I'm blogging too) as we speak.
ReplyDeleteHope the cruise was fun!
