Weekend Wrap-up

Weekend Wrap-up at a Defined Life

It seems like it was just a couple of days ago that I was doing a Weekend Wrap-up … yet it’s time for another one.  How time flies when we’re having fun.  Winking smile

We had a fairly quiet weekend, which was a welcome relief after the chaotic week we had here at Chez Nana.  Things are pretty much back to normal (of course, normal is a relative term Laughing out loud).

I was able to spend a little time with my needle and thread on Friday afternoon … and Season Two of NCIS.
Weekend July 28-29 005

Saturday morning found us putting our furniture back into place … most of it, anyway.  There are a few pieces that will remain sequestered in my sewing room … allowing easier access for touching up the baseboards (they were removed and reinstalled, so there are a few nail holes that need some wood putty and paint).
Weekend July 28-29 008Go figure … I tried and tried to get an accurate picture of the floors, and of course I get one that turned out pretty well when trying to take a picture of the furniture back in place.

We got some much-needed rain Sunday morning … while it wasn’t nearly enough to do much good (we had about .15” of rain in our gauge), it was rain!  The last time we had ANY rain here was on June 14 when we got .17”, so we were thrilled to see it rain … and when I saw the drops accumulating on the deck, I had to take a picture to record this rare event!  Winking smile

If you click on the photo, it will open up ... and you can see the rain drops!  Winking smile

I spent more time quilting on Saturday and Sunday, but instead of watching NCIS, I watched the Olympics.
Weekend July 28-29 006I’m not sure why the picture on the TV looks so foggy … it definitely wasn’t IRL.  I tried 2-3 shots in hopes of getting a better shot of the screen … but this was the best I could get.

I didn’t get a picture of Holly, but we got good news this weekend that I just have to share … it appears that she’s doing much, much better … she’s eating, drinking and playing like normal.

  1. First off, you say normal, in a relative term. I must add my 2 cents...with our relatives, nothing's normal. [kidding]

Sounds like you had a good weekend. Quiet and productive.

    I wish it's rain HERE!!!

again, you have a special something over at Hootin' Anni's today [Monday]

  4. Normal is a word I'm not familiar with! :) Glad you got rain, seems as if that's all we've had this summer! Very unusual for us to have rain daily but we have, accompanied by thunder and lightning! I'm trying hard not to complain as our water table has been so low.

Glad to hear your good news!!

  5. Yay for your rain! Any rain is better than no rain! So glad you had a nice, quiet weekend...to enjoy your new floors :)

We were about to drag out the water hose to water the garden, then we received 2 inches of rain on Sunday :)

  6. I am so glad you got rain! That is so good. I am so glad that your grand dog is doing better too. That is good news. One thing I will say about this weekend is it went by too fast.
I hope you have a very nice week though.

  7. We started watching a new show 'Franklin and Bash'. It's about two lawyers (who are absolutely hilarious) and their shenanigans. I can't stop laughing when I watch the episodes. Have a great week!

  10. I haven't watched a bit of the olympics this year. We don't have a television in our house so that makes it kinda hard! But, I haven't even tried to pull it up on the internet either. The heat has ben unbearable here! We are supposed to hit 114 today and if that happens it will break a record set during the dust bowl! Yikes! Hope this weekend is just as good for you! Thanks for always joining in this small little gathering!
