Another weekend has come and gone … with no pictures this time.
We had T#4 here Friday … it was T#3’s birthday, and they celebrated his day at Six Flags. Since T#4 is just too little for a day at Six Flags, that meant that Nana got some one-on-one T-time! We played and watched Dora the Explorer … and she “helped” me prepare dinner.
We got more rain Saturday morning … and again overnight … a total of .38”, for a total of .7” of rain in the last week. Considering that it had been 7-8 weeks since the last measurable rainfall, that’s pretty big news.
I got in a little hand quilting before our new bed was delivered Saturday afternoon. I forgot what “fun” it is to iron bedskirts … new one for the queen-sized bed that was moved to the spare bedroom and one for our new king-sized bed. The good news: we slept on our new bed that night. The bad news: the bed cover I purchased for our new king-sized bed just did not work out.
After church on Sunday, we did a little more shopping for a comforter … after having no luck locally, I finally found one online that looks like it will work … and it’s on clearance – marked down over 50%!
We also went to the gym … I spent 50 minutes on the treadmill. I wanted to spend some time on the weight machines, too, but it was getting late … next time (perhaps today?).
I have treadmill in our family room and walk on it often. Great exercise. Sounds like a good weekend with grand kid fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI've missed visiting you! We had such a wonderful time in HHI! Boy, was it HOT, though! Of course, I'd go back in a heartbeat! That's great that you got in a good workout at the gym! I always feel so much better when I exercise. Hope your Monday's a good one!
I love that your going to the gym. I want to join one in September. Its too hot here and I am not motivated at all this time of year.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Week-end sounds good! Yes, ironing those bed skirts are always fun huh? haha Looking forward to seeing all your new choices. Good work at the gym. Wish I could do that too. Was always such a good feeling. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got some rain! We got about 1/2" - that is it for the week - we'll take it!!! It has cooled off and we were able to open the windows last night - woohoo! Good Luck with the comforter. I'm headed outside to walk this AM! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very productive weekend! You have to iron bedskirts??????? So that's what I didnt do! I have been trying to find a lightweight cotton king sized blanket that doesn's shrink since we got our bed. I've bought cheap ones and expensive ones and they all end up too narrow after being washed and dried. Very frustrating!
ReplyDeleteMy computer is currently at our son's house being worked on and I'm sort of lost! I keep going over to look at my email and then remember my computer is gone! I hope it isn't really gone! oh, dear.....I won't be blogging until I get it back. Maybe now is the time for that ipad i'm afraid of getting! :)
have a great week.....using my husband's netbook and not typing well at all!
It sounds like a great weekend. Ahhh....bedskirt ironing....I do remember those days.
ReplyDelete50 minutes on the treadmill?! Wow! Sorry that the bedding didn't work out, but I hope the bed slept good.
ReplyDeleteLook at you keeping up the work at the gym! YES! :)
ReplyDeleteLove some precious time one on one with little ones. In a blink of an eye, they'll all be big enough to ride all the rides :)
It sounds so nice. Really 50 minutes on the treadmill? That is great. I am so, so very glad you got rain.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do find a comforter. It is so hard with a king size bed. I hope you have a nice week, I hope it isn't so hot.
I think you had a very nice weekend there - you keep busy and got a great deal! sandie
ReplyDeleteYay for rain! And how about you and that treadmill! I just sold a lovely comforter set that looked like new. But mine was a queen so it wouldn't have worked for you. I'd love to have a king sized bed, but our room is so small that if we did that it would be the only thing in the room!
ReplyDeleteWe had what felt like a monsoon sweep thru here last night. Crazy thunder, lightning, wind and rain. Our power was out for over an hour. I'm sure one on one time makes a little one feel very special.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the stamina and will power for the gym!!! Way to go.
ReplyDeleteColor me GREEN with envy...rain? What's that?
Fifty minutes on the treadmill sounds great, I am still in the thinking mode concerning the gym but I have started to walk when its cool. Hopefully August will bring you guys some more rain
