Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

DD has poison ivy again … this time mostly on her face.  Sad smile  She had to go to the doctor yesterday afternoon, so I got to watch to Ts … of course, it was in the middle of the afternoon, so they were all napping (including T#1 who’s not feeling well, so Mama had him lie down to get some rest).  While I would have rather been playing with my grands, I did get to play with my grandpuppy.  Winking smile

The high today is only going to be 81!  81!  And the 10-day forecast doesn’t show a single day with a high in the 90’s!  Since the first of June, we’ve haven’t had even a half dozen days where the high didn’t make it to 90+.  Disappointed smile  I can’t tell you how wonderful it feels to have fresh air blowing in through the doors and windows!

Because it’s going to be a nice day today, I am contemplating a trip to the Missouri Botanical Garden to see their Chinese lantern display.

I met with a trainer at the gym yesterday … she gave me a routine with the weights that will help keep me fit … and target the areas where I need to build up some strength.  I finished the workout with 30+ minutes on the treadmill.  If we go to the Lantern Festival, I probably won’t get to the gym today … but that’s ok because I’ll get plenty of walking at the Botanical Garden.  Winking smile

Our comforter has been delivered, and it’s going to work.  I’ve got to stop at Target while we’re out today and get a couple of Euro pillows, and I’ll be able to make up the bed.  The only thing missing will be the headboard (hopefully it’ll be here in 2-3 weeks).  Unfortunately, the color of red I chose for the wall quilt won’t work with the new comforter … but it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a nice red that will work well.  (And I need to finish up my log cabin quilt before I start working on another one!)

  2. Your poor daughter with babies too. That is not fun.
81!!! I am so happy for you. I hope it stays there for awhile.
It is already 90 so I know we will hit 109 today. Oh well, it does break after awhile.
Have fun today on your jaunts. It sounds like lots of nice things to do after being in the house because of the heat. I can't wait to see a picture of your finished bedroom. Have a lovely weekend.

  5. The temperatures are wonderful here too! What a gorgeous day, but I'm working 16 hours so I won't see to much of it. But that's ok...loving the OT I'm making.

Hoping you go to the Botanical Gardens and take some pictures. I'd love to see them.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi there, I was so hoping that you'd post a photo of your grandpup or at least what type of dog she is. I'm so impressed with your working with a trainer-good job! Since I stopped the weight classes I haven't been doing any weights at all-bad for me. Can't wait to see your comforter etc. I've been working on the baby quilt but have my two others out that need binding. When we go away in another two weeks, I am going to look for a Thimbleberry quilt-for some reason these fabrics are just drawing me.
    Have a great weekend.

  10. Quits, new bed covers and pillows, Botanical Gardens, chinese lanterns, and temps in the 80s?!!! A most perfect week if you want my opinion. All of it, except for the poison ivy.
