Thursday’s Thoughts

I just counted 6 measuring cup sets in my cupboard … so why do I not have a single one that measures a half cup?  Where do they go?  Perhaps the same place that those missing socks go?

I did discover that you can buy single measuring cups … I’m thinking I’ll be placing an order for one or ten.  Winking smile

Warmer weather has returned here (but nothing like the 100+ temperatures we had in June and July), but it will be short-lived … rain is coming and bringing cooler temperatures with it.  I can’t wait to be able to turn off the A/C and open the windows again.

I found fabrics for my next quilt … a wall quilt. I found 2 red fabrics that matched the red in our bedding set. I chose one, but after the fabric had been cut, I had a change of heart and decided that I liked the other red better. I’m already thinking of a way to use that first red.  I’ve discovered that a king-sized bed needs more than 2 Euro pillows … but only 2 shams came with our bedding set.  I think a 3rd pillow will look much better, and I’ve got just enough of this coordinating red!  Thumbs up

I’m now in Season 5 of NCIS on DVD.  I think Season 4 was the best so far … so many suspenseful episodes that had me on the edge of my chair … I quilt while watching, and I didn’t get much stitching done during those episodes.  Winking smile

  2. You can't find your 1/2 measure? That is so funny, I have the problem with my teaspoon. Always my teaspoon is missing.
You have made it to season 5? That is pretty impressive. I am so glad you are getting rain and the temps are going down, ours is slowly. We might even be down to 98 by next week. It is funny when that looks good isn't it.
You next quilt sounds nice, I can't wait to see what pattern you are going to us.
It is nice getting caught up.
    Have a great day,

  3. I love NCIS. I have watched it faithfully from the very first show.

I have a similar number of measuring cups. I am always losing my 1/3 measuring cup. I am always leaving measuring cups in the flour or sugar bins.

  5. I didn't know it was possible to buy individual measuring cups, seems like I only see them in sets. Good luck on your wall quilt and pillow sham! We're having one GORGEOUS day today; zero humidity and the perfect temperature, I am SO READY for fall.

  6. If you're like me, you use the 1/2 cup size the most! I have measuring cups stuck everywhere, too.

It sounds like you are having fun with your redecorating :)

We're still getting regular rain, but the humidity is stifling.

  8. Oh, I know all about the measuring cup ordeals! I have tons of them but can never find the one I need. Same with measuring spoons!

  9. You definitely need to get a 1/2 cup measuring cup - it is used often! Hopefully you got some rain. Our flight was delayed our of O'Hare this morning due to storms. We are now in Vancouver and it is very warm here - more so than usual! Just what we needed! lol! ~Jeanne

  10. Oh, it's still so very hot here but "suppose" to cool down a little this weekend. Hope! Hope!

How funny about your measuring cups! I sure didn't know you could buy a 1/2 cup by itself.

I was talking with someone today about quilting. They are wanting someone to make their daughter a t-shirt quilt out of her old T-shirts.

    Happy weekend!

  11. Better order a few of those 1/2 cups since they keep running away! A wall quilt sounds lovely. I agree, the third pillow will fill it up nicely.
