It’s amazing how much good a full night’s sleep can do. Obviously I was more exhausted than I thought last night … I was still feeling a little sluggish yet this morning, but I managed to find enough energy and stamina to complete our Christmas decorating. I got a little bit of a jump start yesterday … but only a little. Now we’ve got the nativity set, the Christmas village and the tree up. And not a moment too soon because I don’t think I’ve got an ounce of energy left.
The good news is that there is nothing else that I need to do today … so my plan is to spend the afternoon quilting. I haven’t picked up needle and thread since Tuesday … it feels like it’s been a lot longer than that! I’ll get to enjoy looking at the tree while quilting … I think I’ll tune into Pandora to listen to some Christmas music too.
I know I’ve said it before, but this year is really flying by. It feels like it ought to be, at the latest, Labor Day … yet here we are with Halloween and Thanksgiving under our belts, in the Christmas season. Slow down!!
Today I’m thankful for:
- The scent of a real Christmas tree
- The twinkle of lights on the Christmas tree
- Christmas music playing in the background
- The reason we celebrate – Jesus
decorating fo christmas is exhausting! so nice when its all done.
ReplyDeleteenjoy the rest of your weekend.
I had a great night sleep last night too (for a change). No decorating for me today. I'm trying to finish some Christmas crafts.
ReplyDeleteI would say Amen to your thankful list! I was so exhausted last night from decorating the entire day but today it sure feel good to have it done. Hubby and I ran some errands today and got a couple of presents but I'm feeling lazy and don't want to work on anything right now.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
How blessed you are to have your holiday decorating behind you! I'm just getting started--and I'm already tired :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I finished mine today as well and am so glad to have it behind me. And, I love Pandora! It's just the best! Holiday blessings my friend!
ReplyDeleteHow cool to get a start on your decorating!! We were out and about today and you could see people putting up their lights, etc., plus you could see houses already decorated. I kept driving by thinking "that looks nice, this looks nice" etc., but not really grasping that Christmas is a month away. I'm with you; where did this year go?
ReplyDeletehave a great Sunday!
betty
Our decorating will begin next Saturday, good for you getting it done already! A good night's sleep can cure so many things! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice list. I am glad you are feeling a bit better. I need to get myself in gear. We got the lights up outside but I still haven't put my Thanksgiving things away in the house.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so nice. I miss the smell of a live tree. Have a lovely Sunday
Hope your day went as planned. I would love a real tree but just can't with all my ornaments. This way I can keep it up for six weeks or more. I bet it looks very festive at your house!
