Thankful Thursday

Can you believe that a week from today, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving.  Hard to believe that we’re just a week from Thanksgiving.  That means that it’s shopping day today at Chez Nana.  DD and I worked on the grocery list last night, so we’re ready to go.

Speaking of last night, we celebrated DH’s birthday at DD’s.  They treated us to a fantastic meal … and of course, the best part of the evening was spending time with our favorite people.  T#1 and T#2 have put together their Christmas wish lists … and they’ve got more items from Samaritan’s Purse on their list than they do toys.  Seeing that just made my heart swell.  Red heart

I guess we’ll stop at the store on our way back from St. Louis … finally we’ll be able to celebrate DH’s birthday.  We’ll have lunch at his favorite Italian restaurant on The Hill

That’s the only plans we have for today, so I’m hoping that I’ll get to sit down to do some quilting this afternoon … and watch Tuesday night’s NCIS episode.  I had to bake a cake yesterday afternoon, and I didn’t want to try to do that and watch NCIS at the same time.  Winking smile

Today I’m thankful for:

  • The compassionate hearts of my littles

  • The mama and daddy who are raising them to love and care about others

  • A meal out with my hubby

  • A quiet evening at home with my hubby

  2. It sounds so nice and peaceful. I hope your day is just lovely. It sounds so nice.
I am going to do my grocery shopping today I think. I have made out my list and talked things over with the girls. I do love what you said about your little's compassionate hearts. I think that is one thing I really love about mine is the sweetness of their little hearts. Have a lovely day today Kathy. :)

  6. NCIS this week is in two parts so be sure you watch the recorded episode first.

    Happy Birthday to DH.

  7. Kathy, What a heart of gratitude you have that shines through your kids and grands. Makes me smile-but I'm also smiling about my grands praying over their boxes too. Hope you got that needle and thread going-I realized that my current quilt is a winter one, not autumn, so I don't have to rush to get it done before the holidays. Tomorrow I've got some cleaning to do before hubby gets home-what a joy to clean for him.
    Hugs today.

  8. Precious that your grands are more interested in giving than receiving. Their parents (and I suspect their grandparents!) are doing something right!! :-)

  9. I went to the grocery again today and I think I have it all now. But, knowing me, I'll have one more something I'll have to go back and get before it's done.

Hoping Hubby had a good b'day and that y'all enjoyed your Italian meal.

    Blessings!

  12. So what is your husband's favorite restaurant on The Hill? We sure would like to visit there again.
I zipped a binding on a quilt yesterday. I wasn't overly thrilled with my fabric selection for this quilt so my hubby suggested we use it for an outside and a car quilt. So I machine stitched the whole binding on. Do you hand quilt your quilts?
