Today I'm thankful for the blessing of retirement. Of course, being retired comes with plenty of blessings: not having to set the alarm clock (even though I still get up at the same time that I did when I was working), not having to spend my days in a small cubicle in a basement office, not having to try to coordinate any vacation plans around DH's and my busy times (between busy times of the month, of the quarter and of the year for the two of us, it wasn't very easy to find a time when we could take a vacation), being able to control the thermostat :D, being able to be my own boss, being able to generally do whatever I want ... what's not to love. But the biggest blessing is being able to help DD whenever she needs help with the Ts. Sometimes it's for her convenience (like today ... DSIL took a vacation day and they're going to have a date day while doing some Christmas shopping) and sometimes it's critical (like last fall ... DD was on complete bedrest for 8 weeks while pregnant with T#4 ... who still came 5 weeks early). Being retired allows me to be able to say "yes" whenever she asks for help ... without a moment's hesitation, without having to worry about asking for time off work, without having to worry about work deadlines. I love being retired and am thankful that we were able to retire while still young enough to enjoy the blessing of retirement.

I have controlled the home heat ever since the 1980's when we moved back to the NorthEast. I really don't like the cold at all so the deal was, he controlled the remote and I controlled the heat! It has worked well these many years. But, that's at home, at work I have a space heater that blows on my legs all day. I love how you make yourself ready for your kids and grankids. I too love mine. I'm glad I stopped by.
